• Exits start with groin tightness
Manager Bruce Bochy said Tuesday that Gray was removed from his start against the Phillies due to right groin tightness, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Gray was able to get through five innings before exiting his start, allowing two earned runs on four hits and three walks while striking out four batters. Bochy didn't specify how severe Gray's injury is, so it remains unclear if the right-hander is at risk of missing his next start -- tentatively scheduled for Sunday in Minnesota. • Dane Dunning starting Wednesday vs. Phillies
Dane Dunning (shoulder) will start on Wednesday against the Phillies.

Advice: Rangers manager Bruce Bochy confirmed late Tuesday that Dunning will be activated to take the ball in Philadelphia following a quick two-week absence due to a right shoulder strain. Rotoworld 50 minutes ago

  • Adrian Houser hit hard in loss to Guardians
Adrian Houser allowed six runs on six hits in five innings in a loss to the Guardians on Tuesday.

Advice: Houser struck out four and walked one on the night. He posted a 24 percent whiff rate and 26 percent CSW on the night and showed off some improved velocity, throwing 2.3 mph faster on his sinker and 2.7 mph faster on his slider. Despite allowing six hits, he only allowed four hard-hit baseballs on the day; it just so happened that all of them went for extra bases. Houser is now sporting a 7.88 ERA on the season and should the Mets continue to keep him in the rotation over Jose Butto, he’ll get the Dodgers in his next start. You don’t want any part of that. • Kikuchi lacks run support in loss to White Sox
Yusei Kikuchi allowed two earned runs over six innings in the Blue Jays’ loss to the White Sox.

Advice: Kikuchi was fine for much of the evening but gave up a two-RBI single to Corey Julks in the fifth inning, which looked like a devastating blow to a Blue Jays offense that managed just two hits on the night. Kikuchi’s record sits at 2-3 on the year despite a solid 2.64 ERA. The Jays entered the day as one of the worst run-scoring offenses in the league, making wins hard to come by for Kikuchi, who has yet to earn a win in May despite allowing just six earned runs over 24 1/3 innings on the month. He’ll have one more chance to get a win in May when he makes the start against the Tigers on Sunday. Rotoworld 53 minutes ago

  • Crochet throws six scoreless innings vs. Blue Jays
Garrett Crochet pitched six scoreless innings while striking out four in the White Sox win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: You couldn’t have asked for a much better outing out of Crochet. While it wasn’t a dominating performance, the lefty held the Blue Jays’ lineup to just two hits, while walking only one batter. Crochet continues to be one of the few bright spots for the White Sox, as he’s now won five games on the season and is sporting an era of 3.75. Crochet will look to earn his sixth win in his next start, which is scheduled for Sunday against the Orioles. Rotoworld 55 minutes ago

  • Xzavion Curry survives Mets in spot start
Xzavion Curry allowed two runs on seven hits in 4 1/3 innings in a no decision against the Mets on Tuesday.

Advice: Curry didn’t even know he was starting until a few hours before the game when Carlos Carrasco was unable to pitch due to neck spasms. Curry responded with four shutout innings and only three hits allowed to start the game. After striking out Starling Marte to start the fifth inning, things started to go awry with four straight hits, including a home run to Mrk Vientos. “He looked like he got a little tired in the fifth and started to lose his command a little bit,” said Guardians manager Stephen Vogt. Given how short notice this start was, getting a 23 percent whiff rate and 30 percent CSW is a solid performance; however, it’s unclear if Curry will get another opportunity in the near future or not. • Struggles in return to rotation
Houser (0-4) took the loss Tuesday against the Guardians, allowing six runs on six hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Houser looked to be rolling early, as he'd retire the first seven batters faced. However, he'd allow three runs on three doubles in the third inning before Jose Ramirez launched a two-run homer in the fifth, leaving Houser with his fourth loss. The 31-year-old right-hander has struggled to a 7.88 ERA with a 1.78 WHIP and 21:24 K:BB through his first 37.2 innings with New York. If the Mets return to a five-man rotation, Houser will likely head back to the bullpen. Rotowire.com 59 minutes ago

  • Zack Littell strikes out seven in loss to Red Sox
Zack Littell allowed two earned runs over 5 2/3 innings in Tuesday’s loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Littell was pulled with two outs in the sixth inning, which came after a solo homer by Jarren Durran. The veteran righty was solid for much of the afternoon, allowing just three hits and one walk while striking out seven batters. Littell wasn’t in line for the win after leaving with the game tied but he will have a chance to earn his third win of the season in his next start on Tuesday against the Athletics. • Criswell allows two earned runs in win over Rays
Cooper Criswell allowed two earned runs over 5 1/3 innings in the Red Sox win over the Rays.

Advice: Criswell was solid in this one, and as now allowed three earned runs or less in each of his eight starts this season. Criswell ran into trouble in the first inning when he allowed three hits to his first four batters faced, with the third hit being a two-RBI single from Isaac Paredes. It was the only two runs Criswell would allow, as he was able to settle and allowed just two hits the rest of the way. Criswell will make his next start on Monday against the Orioles.
