      Blanco (5-0) allowed a run on four hits and a walk over seven innings Sunday, striking out six and earning a win over the Athletics.

      Advice: Blanco fired five scoreless frames before coughing up a solo shot to Max Schuemann in the sixth inning. It was Blanco's first start since May 14 after serving a suspension for using a foreign substance. He forced 17 swinging strikes, including seven with his slider. It was the third time in nine starts that he's reached that number. Blanco lowered his ERA to a stellar 1.99 with a 51:22 K:BB through 54.1 frames.     • Earns seventh consecutive win
      Sale (8-1) picked up the victory Sunday against the Pirates, allowing one run on four hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out eight.

      Advice: Sale's scoreless inning streak was snapped at 21.2 innings, but that's about the only negative to take from his performance, as he continues to mow down the competition. It was the seventh straight start in which Sale has earned a win and the sixth consecutive outing in which he's allowed one or fewer runs. Sale, who has not been a beacon of health over recent seasons, has not missed a turn this season, already throwing more innings than in all but one season since 2019. Through 10 starts, Sale has a 2.12 ERA, 0.85 WHIP, 78 strikeouts and a K/BB rate of 8.7 over 63.2 innings.     • Ronel Blanco returns with stellar start in win
      Ronel Blanco allowed just one run on four hits in seven innings in a win over the A’s on Sunday.

      Advice: Blanco struck out six and walked one, allowing just a solo home run to Max Schuemann in his outing. He induced 17 whiffs for a 31 percent whiff rate and 33 percent CSW. He got right back to doing what he was doing after his controversial suspension, and he now has a 1.99 ERA on the season to go along with a 5-0 record.     • Chris Sale wins again after seven strong innings
      Chris Sale allowed just one earned run across seven innings in an 8-1 win for the Braves over the Pirates on Sunday. He struck out eight and walked none.

      Advice: The win was Sale’s eighth of the season. He’s pitching the best he has in at least five seasons and by some measures, as well as he has in his entire career. He’s striking out his highest percentage of batters since 2019 and walking the least he ever has! The Pirates got on him in the second inning for a run and then Sale proceeded to retire the next 12 batters he faced. He is once again an ace that can be relied on as such. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:32 pm

    • Yusei Kikuchi struggles through three innings
      Yusei Kikuchi was pulled after allowing five runs and eight hits in three innings Sunday against the Tigers.

      Advice: Kikuchi’s velocity was down 1.5 mph on this fastball and about 2.5 mph on his secondary pitches today, and he failed to record a strikeout against the 17 batters he faced. It was easily his worst performance of the year. Hopefully, the velocity drop can be explained by an illness or something else minor. Rotoworld Sunday, 12:27 pm

      Kikuchi escaped Sunday's 14-11 loss to Detroit with a no-decision, yielding five earned runs on eight hits over just three innings. He did not record a walk or strikeout.

      Advice: Kikuchi got roughed up in this one, surrendering four extra-base hits including a solo home run to Spencer Torkelson. The five earned runs are a season high for Kikuchi, who entered this game on a four-game streak allowing two runs or fewer. The 32-year-old still sports a solid 3.25 ERA after Sunday's outing, but more regression could be coming if his 0.74 HR/9 normalizes to his career average of 1.56.       Advice: The left-hander lined up to start on regular rest Sunday after he allowed four earned runs over six innings Tuesday at Miami, but Tobias Myers will instead receive the nod in Boston.       Blanco (suspension) was reinstated to the Astros' 26-man active roster Sunday and will start Houston's series finale versus the Athletics in Oakland.

      Advice: As had been reported days earlier, Blanco will immediately slot back into the Houston rotation now that he's completed his 10-game ban after he was deemed to have used a foreign substance during his most recent start May 14, also versus Oakland. Assuming Blanco was able to stay fully ramped up while he was serving his suspension, he shouldn't face many restrictions when he takes the hill Sunday.
