    • Mike Trout undergoes successful knee surgery
Mike Trout underwent successful surgery on Friday to repair the meniscus tear in his left knee.

Advice: Officially, Trout underwent a partial medial meniscectomy. While there’s still no official timetable for his return, the Angels remain optimistic that he’ll be able to return to the lineup at some point during the 2024 season. Unfortunately, that leaves fantasy managers in leagues without injured list spots having to carry a zero on the bench for an indefinite amount of time, or risk the pain of throwing him back into the free agent pool and not being able to reacquire him when/if he does return. • Royce Lewis (quad) increases baseball activities
Twins’ manager Rocco Baldelli told reporters on Friday that Royce Lewis (quad) has been progressing nicely in his recovery and has increased baseball activities in recent days.

Advice: He’s now entering the fifth week of his recovery from a severe right quad strain and is tracking towards meeting that initial eight-week estimate that he was given when he sustained the injury. The dynamic 24-year-old infielder could rejoin the Twins’ lineup before the month of May concludes if he continues to avoid any setbacks. Rotoworld Today, 2:49 pm

    • Could return in late May
Lewis (quad) is on target to return around the original eight-week mark in late-May, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Per Hayes, Lewis is progressing well and has started to increase baseball activities. At his one-month checkup, he was healing as expected and he's at five weeks, as of Friday's report. Rotowire.com Today, 2:33 pm

    • Undergoes surgery
Trout underwent surgery to repair the meniscus in his left knee Friday, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The three-time American League MVP suffered the injury Monday against the Phillies, and there wasn't much of a delay before he went under the knife. Trout remains without an official timeline for his return, but he'll rehab in Anaheim for the foreseeable future and should be considered out indefinitely. Rotowire.com Today, 1:40 pm

    • Moves up to leadoff spot
Young will start in center field and bat leadoff in Friday's game versus the Blue Jays.

Advice: Young batted leadoff a few times last month, but this is the first time since April 19 that a player other than CJ Abrams has been at the top of the batting order (Abrams is hitting second Friday). The Nationals are facing southpaw Yusei Kikuchi, and the right-handed hitting Young is batting .313/.353/.375 versus lefties this season. Rotowire.com Today, 1:19 pm

    • Logs three hits, two steals in win
Altuve went 3-for-5 with a run, an RBI and two stolen bases in an 8-2 victory versus Cleveland on Thursday.

Advice: Altuve continued his recent stretch of hot hitting, notching his third multi-hit effort over his past four contests. The veteran second baseman added a pair of thefts Thursday, and he's now swiped six bags over his past 15 games after failing to record a steal across his initial 16 contests of the campaign. Altuve ranks seventh among qualified hitters with a .352 average on the season and is tied for second with 45 hits. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:27 pm

    • Jose Altuve has three hits, two steals in win
Jose Altuve went 3-for-5 with an RBI and also stole two bases on Thursday, leading the Astros to an 8-2 victory over the Guardians.

Advice: Altuve’s latest three-hit performance, which also included a seventh-inning RBI single, boosted his batting average to a stratospheric .352 (45-for-128) mark through 31 games. The 33-year-old veteran also picked up his 299th career stolen base in this one. He’s managed to stay healthy and has been one of the most impactful contributors in the entire fantasy landscape this season. Unreal. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:17 pm

    • Three hits in extra-inning win
Kwan went 3-for-5 with a triple, a double and two RBI in Wednesday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the Astros.

Advice: Kwan's RBI triple in the fifth inning gave the Guardians a 2-0 lead, and he plated the decisive run with a double in the 10th. He ended up a home run short of the cycle in Wednesday's strong performance. The leadoff hitter has gone 11-for-28 (.393) during his seven-game hitting streak, and he's slashing an excellent .360/.403/.512 with three homers, 11 RBI, 27 runs scored, three stolen bases, six doubles and two triples over 29 contests this season. • Provides lone run in loss
Contreras went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Tigers.

Advice: Contreras also struck out three times Wednesday for the third consecutive game. He'll likely be happy to put the Tigers in the rear-view mirror after going 1-for-13 with nine strikeouts during the three-game series in Detroit. That poor stretch has dropped Contreras to a .258/.373/.505 slash line on the year, and he's added five homers, 10 RBI, 14 runs scored, eight doubles and a stolen base through 110 plate appearances. Contreras has caught four of the Cardinals' last six games, so it appears he's managing his lingering soreness from a left hand injury fairly well. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:55 am
