    • Kyle Schwarber’s two-run single enough vs. Halos
Kyle Schwarber smacked a two-run single on Wednesday, lifting the Phillies to a 2-1 victory over the Angels.

Advice: Schwarber’s second-inning two-run single off Angels southpaw Patrick Sandoval represented Philadelphia’s only offensive production of a low-scoring contest out in Los Angeles. It wound up being enough as Zack Wheeler and a quartet of relievers managed to limit the Angels to just one run on 10 hits. Rotoworld Wednesday, 4:10 pm

    • Chris Sale posts nine strikeouts in win over M’s
Chris Sale recorded a season-high nine strikeouts and allowed one run over five innings on Wednesday in a win over the Mariners.

Advice: Sale authored arguably his strongest performance of his Braves debut so far, generating an eye-popping 21 swinging strikes, and finishing with an elite 39 percent CSW. A run-scoring single from Jorge Polanco with two outs in the fifth inning represented the lone tally against him in this one. The oft-injured 35-year-old veteran southpaw has looked rejuvenated since arriving in Atlanta, allowing three earned runs or fewer in five of six starts to open the year. He’ll carry a strong 3.44 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 42/7 K/BB ratio across 36 2/3 innings (six starts) into a home outing next Wednesday against his former team, the suddenly resurgent Red Sox. • Luis Rengifo goes 3-for-4, homers in loss
Luis Rengifo finished 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBI versus the Phillies in Tuesday’s loss.

Advice: New Angels manager Ron Washington made it very clear early on that he wasn’t a Rengifo fan, but at this point, it’s hard to justify not batting him first. He was in the fifth spot tonight. but he has about 60 points of OBP on leadoff man Nolan Schanuel, and he’s definitely the more effective baserunner of those two. Rengifo should be of use in mixed leagues if and when the Angels bat him at the top of the order regularity, Rotoworld Tuesday, 11:34 pm

    • Goes yard again
Rengifo went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run and a stolen base during Tuesday's 7-5 loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Rengifo gave the Angels a lead in the sixth inning, tagging reliever Yunior Marte for a three-run shot to plate Taylor Ward and Brandon Drury. After going homerless in his first 22 games, Rengifo has clobbered long balls in two of his last three contests and has scored five times in his last five games. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 10:30 pm

    • Locks down quality start
Anderson didn't factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks over six innings against Philadelphia. He struck out six.

Advice: Anderson secured his fourth quality start of the campaign Tuesday and logged at least six K's for a second consecutive outing. All of the damage against Anderson came in the second inning when Kyle Schwarber launched a three-run homer. Although Anderson has surrendered five home runs in his last four starts, he still owns a solid 3.63 ERA with 19 strikeouts during that stretch. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 10:13 pm
    • Pops two homers Tuesday
Greene went 4-for-9 with a double, two home runs and three total RBI across both games of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Cardinals.

Advice: Greene provided all of Detroit's offense with a solo home run in the first game Tuesday, a 2-1 loss, but he really got going in the nightcap. He collected three hits in the 11-6 win, including a double and another homer, his seventh of the season. The talented young outfielder has pushed his OPS up to a robust .912, and the sky is the limit for Greene the rest of the way if he manages to stay healthy. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 7:37 pm

    • Riley Greene homers in both games of doubleheader
Riley Greene went 3-for-5 with a solo homer and two RBI to lead the Tigers to an 11-6 win over the Cardinals in the second game of Tuesday’s doubleheader.

Advice: Greene homered in both games of Tuesday’s twin bill at Comerica Park and is now up to seven round-trippers on the season. The 23-year-old former top prospect bashed a seventh-inning solo shot off reliever Giovanny Gallegos in the nightcap affair after taking veteran Kyle Gibson deep in the front end of the doubleheader. He’s been a certifiable on-base machine this season and appears to be finally putting it all together at the dish after struggling to stay healthy the last few years. Rotoworld Tuesday, 6:55 pm

    • Placed on injured list
The Angels placed Trout on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a torn meniscus in his left knee.

Advice: Trout was diagnosed with a torn meniscus Tuesday and will require surgery, so a move to the IL was expected. It's worth noting the 32-year-old superstar was placed on the 10-day IL rather than the 60-day list, which may indicate the Angels expect Trout to bounce back from his procedure relatively quickly. • Mike Trout hits IL with left knee meniscus tear
Angels placed OF Mike Trout on the 10-day injured list with a left knee meniscus tear.

Advice: Trout is slated to undergo surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. There isn’t a definitive timetable for his return yet, but the expectation is that he’ll return at some point later this season. It’s obviously a colossal loss for the Angels, and fantasy managers. The 32-year-old generational superstar was in the midst of an impressive renaissance campaign, posting a strong .867 OPS with a major league-leading 10 homers and six steals through 29 games. There should be some clarity on his potential return timeline at some point following the knee procedure. Rotoworld Tuesday, 6:30 pm
