    • Swats homer Wednesday
Verdugo went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 2-1 victory against the Angels.

Advice: Verdugo's fourth-inning solo shot equaled the margin of victory in the pitching-dominated matchup. The long ball was his eighth of the season, putting Verdugo well on pace to surpass the career-best mark of 13 homers that he's reached two separate seasons. In his first campaign as a Yankee, Verdugo has added 29 RBI, 27 runs, a stolen base and a .260/.321/.439 slash line through 221 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:06 am

    • Homer, stolen base in win
Schwarber went 2-for-4 with a solo homer, an additional RBI, a walk and a stolen base in Wednesday's 6-1 victory over the Giants.

Advice: He got the Phillies started with an opposite-field homer off Kyle Harrison to lead off the first inning. Schwarber drove in a second run with a base hit in the eighth, extending Philadelphia's lead to 5-0. It's the third straight two-hit game for Schwarber -- he's gone 6-for-12 with two homers, four RBI and two steals in that span. He's boosted his slash line to .246/.369/.425 with 11 homers, 35 RBI and 43 runs scored across 55 games while going 4-for-5 in stolen base attempts this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:15 am

    • Walks six in loss
Anderson (5-5) got stuck with the loss against the Yankees on Wednesday, allowing one run on four hits and six walks over five innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Anderson allowed three batters to reach base in each of the first two frames but somehow managed to pitch his way around it and avoid sustaining any damage. However, the lefty would finally cough up a run in the fourth after leaving a sinker up in the zone, which Alex Verdugo proceeded to crush over the wall in right field. Anderson issued a season-high six free passes on the night and has now walked multiple batters in three consecutive starts. Even with those walks, it was also the third straight outing in which he allowed only one run. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:21 am
    • Alex Verdugo homers in win over Angels
Alex Verdugo went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in the Yankees’ 2-1 win over the Angels on Wednesday.

Advice: Despite the Yankees putting five men on base through three frames, they didn’t bring a run in to score until Verdugo’s solo blast off Tyler Anderson to lead off the fourth inning. It was one of only two runs the team would score in Wednesday’s victory. The 28-year-old outfielder is hitting .260/.321/.439 with eight homers and 29 RBI across 221 plate appearances. • Tyler Anderson issues six walks in loss to Yankees
Tyler Anderson allowed one run with four strikeouts across five innings in a loss to the Yankees on Wednesday.

Advice: Anderson was fortunate to give up just the one run as he battled control issues against the Yankees, allowing six free passes. He walked the bases loaded in the first inning, but was able to escape the jam with a pop out double play and a groundout. Anderson worked around two more hits and a walk in the second. The Yankees would finally get a run in with a solo homer by Alex Verdugo in the fourth. Anderson would pitch a scoreless fifth, again working around a pair of walks, before his day was done at 95 pitches. The 34-year-old right-hander will take a 2.47 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and a 48/29 K/BB ratio across 69 1/3 innings into a start against the Padres in Anaheim on Monday. Rotoworld Wednesday, 9:12 pm
    • Reaches three times in doubleheader
Greene went 2-for-7 with a walk, a double and two runs scored in Wednesday's doubleheader against the Pirates.

Advice: Greene did most of his damage in the first game, when he went 2-for-4 with both of his runs, then cooled down against Paul Skenes and the Pittsburgh bullpen in the nightcap. That's a microcosm of the outfielder's season, as he was batting .257 with a .911 OPS through the end of April, but he's batting just .204 with a .590 OPS this month. Greene has the talent to get rolling again, however, and fantasy managers will just need to be patient with the 23-year-old. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 6:53 pm

    • Blanks Bucs for seventh win
Skubal (7-1) picked up the win in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader split with the Pirates, scattering three hits and a walk over seven scoreless innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: The southpaw was dominant once again, as he retired the last 10 batters he faced and didn't allow a Pittsburgh baserunner to get past second base. Skubal generated a whopping 36 called or swinging strikes among his 93 pitches as he produced his eighth quality start of the season, and he'll take a dazzling 2.01 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 80:11 K:BB through 67 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come on the road early next week against the Rangers. • Kyle Schwarber orders combo meal in Phillies’ win
Kyle Schwarber walloped a leadoff homer and also stole a base on Wednesday, propelling the Phillies to a 6-1 victory over the Giants.

Advice: Schwarber delivered a tone-setting blast to left-center field right out of the gate against Giants starter Kyle Harrison before reaching on a fielder’s choice and stealing second base a couple frames later. The 31-year-old slugger also added an RBI single in the eighth inning as well to put the cherry on top of a multi-hit performance at Oracle Park, which is one of the toughest ballparks in the league for left-handed batters. • Tarik Skubal fans eight, combines on shutout
Tarik Skubal pitched three-hit ball and struck out eight over seven innings Wednesday as the Tigers shut out the Pirates 8-0 in the first game of a doubleheader.

Advice: Skubal followed up his worst start of the year against the Royals with one of his best today. He’s now 7-1 with a 2.01 ERA and an 80/11 K/BB ratio over 67 innings. His 0.821 WHIP barely puts him behind Ranger Suárez at 0.819 for best in the league. Rotoworld Wednesday, 12:15 pm
