Devers went 3-for-5 with a run scored in Thursday's 6-4 loss to Cleveland.

Advice: Devers produced a second consecutive three-hit effort after missing five games with a knee injury. He's 6-for-9 with a double, home run, two RBI and two runs scored in his two games back. The downtime appears to have given the balky shoulder he was dealing with during Boston's homestand last week time to heal. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:29 pm
    • Goes deep in loss
Lowe went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 4-3 loss Seattle.

Advice: Lowe reached down for a slider low in the zone to blast his first home run of the season. The first baseman has played in all five games since being activated off the injured list last Saturday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:42 pm
    • Hoskins has three hits, two RBI in win
Rhys Hoskins went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI in a win over the Pirates on Thursday.

Advice: Hoskins is hitting just .226/.320/.452 on the year but does have five home runs and 17 RBI in 23 games. He’s been making solid contact with a barrel rate of just under 13 percent and has just 20 strikeouts in his 23 games, so at some point, that level of quality contact will lead to a hot streak. Maybe this is the start of one? Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:19 pm

    • Likely back at third base Saturday
Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Thursday that Devers (knee) isn't comfortable enough yet to play third base but will likely return to the position Saturday versus the Cubs, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Advice: The good news is Devers is well enough to hit, as he'll be the club's designated hitter again Thursday after homering from the spot in his return to the lineup Wednesday. The Cubs are starting left-hander Shota Imanaga on Friday, so it's possible the lefty-hitting Devers will rest that day before returning to third base Saturday. With Devers (twice) and Tyler O'Neill (once) occupying the DH spot the last three days, Masataka Yoshida has been on the bench. However, it sounds like Yoshida should be back in there soon enough. • Six Ks in no-decision
Flaherty came away with a no-decision in Wednesday's 7-5 loss to the Rays, giving up four runs on seven hits over five innings. He struck out six without walking a batter.

Advice: The veteran righty stumbled early, giving up a solo shot to Randy Arozarena in the first inning and three more runs in the second, but he settled down after that and the Tigers took him off the hook for a loss in the top of the sixth. Flaherty generated 30 called or swinging strikes among his 97 pitches, but he's having difficulty keeping the ball in the park -- he's served up a homer in all five of his starts, fueling a 4.91 ERA that isn't in sync with his 1.16 WHIP or 36:4 K:BB through 29.1 innings. He lines up for a potential revenge game in his next trip to the mound, a home matchup early next week against the Cardinals. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:53 am
    • Three more steals Wednesday
De La Cruz went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI, a run scored and three stolen bases in Wednesday's 7-4 win over the Phillies.

Advice: It's already the second three-steal game for De La Cruz this season -- he's up to a league-leading 15 stolen bases on the campaign. The 22-year-old shortstop has been sensational through the first month of the year, batting .313 with a 1.063 OPS, seven home runs, 23 runs scored and 18 RBI through his first 24 games. • Elly De La Cruz swipes three bases in victory
Elly De La Cruz went 3-for-5 with a double and three steals as the Reds topped the Phillies 7-4 on Wednesday.

Advice: De La Cruz has finally gotten to ascend to the second spot in the lineup that he was expected to fill during spring training. It’s early, but he’s finally blossoming into the five-category superstar that optimistic fantasy managers willing to overlook his contact issues were envisioning, batting .313/.412/.820 in 97 plate appearances. He’s stolen 15 bases in 18 attempts, and he seems like the best bet of anyone to lead the majors in that category this season. Rotoworld Wednesday, 9:57 pm

    • Grabs fifth save
Diaz earned the save in Wednesday's 7-4 win over the Phillies, allowing one hit in a scoreless inning.

Advice: After allowing three runs and blowing a save in his first outing this year, Diaz has converted his subsequent five save opportunities, allowing just one run while striking out 10 over his last nine appearances. His ERA is down to 3.48 with a 1.16 WHIP across 10.1 innings this season. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:13 pm

    • Tallies sixth save
McArthur earned the save Wednesday against Toronto, allowing one hit and no walks with two strikeouts over a scoreless inning.

Advice: McArthur converted on his sixth consecutive save chance, keeping the Blue Jays off the scoreboard after entering the game with the Royals ahead by one run. He's rebounded from a rocky start to 2024 and hasn't allowed a run since April 3 (eight appearances), with 11 strikeouts over 9.2 innings in that stretch. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:54 pm
