    • On bench for fifth straight game
Kjerstad is out of the lineup for Monday's contest against the Yankees.

Advice: After starting the first game following his promotion from Triple-A Norfolk on April 23, Kjerstad has now been on the bench for five straight contests. Clearly, getting the 25-year-old consistent reps hasn't been a priority for manager Brandon Hyde. Colten Cowser and Anthony Santander will occupy the corner-outfield spots Monday, while Ryan Mountcastle will handle first base and Ryan O'Hearn will serve as Baltimore's designated hitter. • Could be emerging from slump
Riley posted an exit velocity over 100 mph on three different balls Saturday but failed to get a hit on any of them, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The third baseman did collect two hits Sunday, including a walk-off single in the 10th inning, but for the most part Riley hasn't been getting results of late -- he hasn't homered in 18 straight games, slashing .222/.317/.319 over that stretch with five doubles, a triple and six RBI. Given the way he's swinging the bat, however, it seems only a matter of time before the 27-year-old heats up. Advanced metrics back up the idea that Riley's lack of production is mainly due to bad luck -- he sits in the 90th percentile in barrel rate on the season, right in line with his 2023 (89th percentile) and 2022 (96th percentile) campaigns. • Homers in consecutive games
Rutschman went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's 7-6 loss to the Athletics.

Advice: Rutschman homered for the second game in a row, doubling his total for the year to four. The catcher also struck out three times Sunday and is now striking out at a 16.0 percent rate. He's added 17 RBI, 17 runs scored and a .318/.361/.455 slash line through 119 plate appearances. Rutschman has maintained more playing time than the average catcher this year, as manager Brandon Hyde has often put him at designated hitter when he's not behind the dish. • Launches homer in loss
Paredes went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the White Sox.

Advice: Paredes took Erick Fedde deep for a solo shot in the top of the fourth, giving Tampa Bay an early 1-0 lead. He later singled and came around to score in the top of the ninth on a double from Harold Ramirez. The homer was the 25-year-old's seventh of the season and second in his last five games. Since April 14, Paredes has batted .314 with three home runs, seven RBI and seven runs scored over 51 at-bats in 13 games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:17 pm

    • Austin Riley has game-winning hit on Sunday
Austin Riley went 2-for-4 with a game-winning single in a win over the Guardians on Sunday.

Advice: Riley thought he had a game-winning home run off Emmanuel Clase earlier in the series only to have the ball caught at the warning track, but he left no doubt about this one with a laser of a line drive up the middle to drive in Ronald Acuna Jr., who was the ghost runner to start the 10th inning. That was Riley’s 14th RBI of the season, but the third baseman is hitting just .234/.311/.383 so far. He should find himself in a hot stretch in short order to bring that line back to his normal dominance. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:05 pm

    • Isaac Paredes goes 2-for-4, hits seventh homer
Isaac Paredes finished 2-for-4 with a homer versus the White Sox on Sunday.

Advice: Paredes is the one holdover in the Rays lineup who hasn’t been hurt or a disappointment. The homer today was his seventh. No one else on the squad has more than three. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:02 pm

    • Christopher Morel returns to Cubs lineup on Sunday
Christopher Morel (hip, elbow) returned to the Cubs’ starting lineup on Sunday.

Advice: Morel was pulled from Saturday’s game after colliding with teammate Alexander Canario in the outfield, but aside from being a bit banged up he’s good to go. Morel is starting at the hot corner and batting cleanup against Tanner Houck and the Red Sox on Sunday night. On the season, the 24-year-old slugger is hitting .219/.296/.365 with three homers, 12 RBI and one stolen base through 26 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:02 pm

    • Good to go Sunday
Morel (hip) is starting at third base and batting cleanup Sunday against the Red Sox.

Advice: The 24-year-old collided with Alexander Canario after making a running catch in the outfield Saturday but is apparently no worse for wear. Morel fell into a 1-for-32 slump over nine contests in mid-May, but his bat has come alive over his past six games with a .781 OPS. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:34 pm

    • Back in action Sunday
Diaz (finger) is starting at first base and batting leadoff Sunday against the White Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: The 32-year-old sat out Saturday after being hit by a pitch in the left pinky finger Friday, but he'll rejoin the starting nine after missing just one game. Diaz is hitting .324 in his past nine contests, though he's slugging just .378 during that stretch and has not hit a home run since Opening Day. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:04 am
