    • Secures win over Cubs
Jansen (1-0) got the win over the Cubs on Sunday, pitching a perfect inning while striking out a batter in the process.

Advice: Jansen entered in the ninth with the score tied 4-4 and did his job by retiring the side in order in 10 pitches. He would wind up with his first win of the campaign after the Red Sox walked it off in the bottom of the inning. Jansen has now pitched three consecutive scoreless outings after blowing a save chance April 16. For the year, he owns a 1.86 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 14:8 K:BB in 9.2 innings to go along with five saves. • Kenley Jansen earns victory against Cubs on Sunday
Kenley Jansen picked up his first victory of the season on Sunday night, working a scoreless ninth inning against the Cubs.

Advice: Jansen took over with the score tied 4-4 heading to the top half of the ninth inning. He did his job, retiring Dansby Swanson, Nick Madrigal and Miguel Amaya in order. The 36-year-old right-hander then became the beneficiary when the Red Sox walked it off in the home half of the frame. For the season, he now holds a 1.86 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and a 14/8 K/BB ratio over 9 2/3 innings while converting five of his first six save opportunities. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:55 pm
    • Struggles in Milwaukee
Stroman pitched four innings, giving up four runs on six hits and five walks while striking out four in Sunday's 15-5 win over the Brewers. He did not factor into the decision.

Advice: Stroman was able to survive four scoreless frames to open Sunday's outing before the wheels fell off in the bottom of the fifth. He allowed all five batters he faced in the inning to reach base, including a three-run home run by Jake Bauers, which knotted the game up at 4-4. The 32-year-old has now surrendered five total homers over his last four starts after not giving one up in either of his first two outings in 2024. Stroman now owns a 3.69 ERA and 1.42 WHIP with 32 strikeouts over 31.2 innings in six starts this season, and he's tentatively set to return to the mound Friday home for a matchup against the Tigers. • Marcus Stroman can’t survive fifth versus Brewers
Marcus Stroman yielded four runs and five walks in four-plus innings Sunday against the Brewers.

Advice: Stroman kept pitching out of trouble early, but the fifth started with a walk, an infield single, an RBI double, a three-run homer and another walk before he was finally pulled. In all, Stroman allowed six hits, walked five and hit a batter. He seems pretty lucky to have a 3.69 ERA through six starts. Last year, he had a 3.95 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP with just nine homers allowed in 136 2/3 innings. His WHIP is 1.43 at the moment, and he’s given up five homers in 31 2/3 innings. Advice: Garcia opened up the scoring in Sunday's contest, taking Andrew Abbott deep for a two-run shot with two outs in the bottom of the first inning, driving in teammate Nathaniel Lowe in the process. The long ball was his eighth of the season and third in his last six contests. The outfielder is now batting .291 with eight homers, 25 RBI, 19 runs scored and four stolen bases over 103 at-bats in 28 games this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:51 pm
    • Shuts down champs for first win
Greene (1-2) picked up the win in Saturday's 8-4 victory over the Rangers, allowing only one hit and one walk over seven scoreless innings while striking out six.

Advice: The Reds' bullpen made things a little more interesting, but Greene was in total control while he was on the mound, firing 63 of 98 pitches for strikes and letting only one runner even get to third base. The right-hander has two quality starts through his first six outings this season, and he'll take a 3.63 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 42:12 K:BB through 34.2 innings into his next start, which lines up to come at home next weekend against the Orioles. • Hunter Greene blanks Rangers over seven in win
Hunter Greene tossed seven shutout innings with six strikeouts in a win over the Rangers on Saturday.

Advice: Greene put together his best start of the season on Saturday, spinning a gem against a tough Rangers lineup. He allowed just two baserunners on the day, walking a batter in the fourth and giving up a double in the fifth. Greene induced just six whiffs, but tossed 63-of-98 pitches for strikes to strike out six. The 24-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 3.63 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and a 42/12 K/BB ratio across 34 2/3 innings. He’ll take on the Orioles in Cincinnati on Friday. Rotoworld Saturday, 3:54 pm
