    • Marcus Semien homers in eighth to lead Rangers
      Marcus Semien hit his fifth homer Friday as the Rangers bested the Reds 2-1.

      Advice: Semien nearly had two homers, but his 410-foot drive to center in the fifth, which Statcast said would have been gone in 18 parks, was caught at the wall. The actual homer was hit 392 feet and broke a 1-1 tie in the eighth. It gave hm 19 runs scored and 20 RBI in 27 games, even though it doesn’t seem like either he or the Rangers offense as a whole has really caught fire yet. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:22 pm

      Advice: Westburg is up to a nine-game hitting streak, going 16-for-35 (.457) with three homers and 10 RBI in that span. The 25-year-old is thriving in a near-everyday role, often playing at third base versus right-handed pitchers and at second base against southpaws. He's up to five homers, 18 RBI, 14 runs scored and three stolen bases while slashing .333/.392/.639 through 80 plate appearances.       Advice: Westburg also walked. He’s 18-for-41 with four homers, 13 RBI and three steals in his last 11 games, improving his season line to .333/.392/.639. The guess going into the year was that he’d be solid but probably not mixed-league worthy, particularly with what Camden Yards does to right-handed power, but he’d looked terrific so far.       Advice: The Orioles were able to get to Cole Ragans early and often — often is an understatement as they scored seven in 1 2/3 innings — and Westburg contributed with a two-run single in the second. The 25-year-old doesn’t get the same plaudits as some of the other young stars on the Baltimore roster, but he deserves attention.       Advice: Semien's fourth homer of the year put Texas in front immediately, and his sixth-inning single sparked a rally to tie the game at 3-3, but the Rangers' offense ultimately wasn't able to keep up with Atlanta's. The 33-year-old Semien has gotten off to another strong start this season while serving as Texas' primary leadoff man, slashing .286/.355/.464 with 17 RBI and 16 runs scored through his first 93 plate appearances.
