• Homers among three hits
Massey went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer in Friday's win over Oakland.

Advice: Massey cracked his fourth home run of the season in sixth inning, hitting it 368 feet to right field. The 26-year-old has enjoyed a hot start to May, hitting .288 (15-for-52) with three homers, five runs scored and 11 RBI this month. Overall, Massey is now slashing .259/.261/.447 over 90 plate appearances while being locked into the starting second base job in Kansas City. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:39 pm
  • To be investigated by MLB
Major League Baseball intends to open an investigation into a reported gambling situation involving Fletcher and bookmaker Mathew Bowyer, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Advice: Per Tisha Thompson of ESPN, Fletcher placed bets on multiple sports but did not bet on baseball. MLB allows players to bet on other sports, but doing so through illegal bookmakers such as Bowyer -- the same bookmaker used by Shohei Ohtani's former interpreter, Ippei Mizuhara -- is prohibited and punishable at the discretion of the commissioner. Fletcher is currently not facing discipline but is expected to be investigated by Major League Baseball soon. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:06 pm

  • Joey Ortiz picks up three hits, three-run homer
Joey Ortiz hit a three-run homer while going 3-for-4 in a loss to the Astros on Friday.

Advice: Ortiz also doubled, with the only damper on the evening being a caught stealing. The former Baltimore top prospect has been a big part of Milwaukee’s success, as this is the fifth homer for the 25-year-old and he’s slashing .296/.397/.561 for good measure. It was understandable for those who were skeptical of Ortiz as a fantasy option coming into the year, but this is no longer all that small of sample. It’s time to take him seriously. • Davis Schneider homers in loss
Davis Schneider hit a two-run home run in a loss to the Rays on Friday.

Advice: As has been the story for most of this season, Schneider was the lone bright spot for the Jays’ offense on Friday. The home run was his fifth of the season and his 13 BB% and 145 wRC+ suggest he could move up in order permanently if the Blue Jays ever want to relieve George Springer of his lead-off duties. • Jonathan India returns to Reds’ lineup on Friday
Jonathan India (migraine) returned to the Reds’ starting lineup for Friday night’s matchup against the Dodgers.

  • Still hoping to avoid injured list
Hoerner (hamstring) remains day-to-day and the Cubs are still hoping he can avoid the injured list, Ryan Herrera of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Hoerner is missing a fourth straight start Friday after still feeling something in his left hamstring Thursday, per manager Craig Counsell. While the skipper expressed hope that an IL won't be needed, he conceded that a move would be on the table if the issue continues to linger. With Dansby Swanson (knee) also out, the Cubs have been going with Miles Mastrobuoni and Nick Madrigal as their middle infield duo. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:37 am

  • DJ LeMahieu (foot) starts rehab Friday
DJ LeMahieu (foot) will start his minor league rehab assignment Friday with Double-A Somerset.

Advice: LeMahieu has been on the injured list since the beginning of the season with a fractured foot. He could be activated by the Yankees as long as he doesn’t suffer another setback. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:26 am

  • Remains out with hamstring issue
Hoerner (hamstring) remains out of the lineup for Friday's game versus the Pirates.

Advice: It's the fourth straight game Hoerner has been out of the lineup due to tightness in his left hamstring. A stint on the injured list would seem to be a distinct possibility at this point given how much time Hoerner has missed, although there's been no indication from the Cubs yet that a move is coming. Miles Mastrobuoni and Nick Madrigal will again be tasked with middle infield duties for Chicago. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:34 am

Jonathan India (migraine) remains absent from the lineup for Thursday’s contest against the Dodgers.

Advice: India will miss his second straight contest after being scratched from Wednesday’s lineup due to a migraine. It’ll be Santiago Espinal making another start at the keystone in his absence. Rotoworld Thursday, 3:16 pm
