He's likely still working on getting into a groove after an extended absence following his August 2022 Tommy John surgery.       Walker Buehler allowed three runs -- two earned -- with two strikeouts over five innings in a loss to the Rangers on Wednesday.

      Advice: Buehler had worked through four scoreless innings against the Rangers before serving up a three-run homer to Corey Seager to put Texas on top. Buehler scattered seven hits and one walk, striking out two batters. The 29-year-old right-hander has posted a 4.64 ERA, 1.48 WHIP, and a 29/9 K/BB ratio across 33 innings.       Sanchez did not factor into the decision in Wednesday's 8-6 loss to the Red Sox, allowing four runs on seven hits and two walks with two strikeouts over four innings.

      Advice: Sanchez opened with three scoreless frames before allowing a run on a sacrifice fly in the fourth, then he surrendered three straight hits to open the fifth and was pulled at just 67 pitches. All three inherited runners came around to score, marking the first time since April 29 that Sanchez yielded four runs or more in a start.       Cristopher Sánchez was charged with four runs in four-plus innings Wednesday against the Red Sox.

      Advice: It was one run through four, but the Red Sox opened up the fifth with three straight singles, only one of them hard hit, and the decision was made to pull Sánchez. There’s a good argument that Sánchez deserves better at this point — he entered the game with a 2.71 ERA, and he had thrown just 67 pitches tonight — but the Phillies wanted to be aggressive with their bullpen usage tonight.       Candelario went 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in a 4-2 win over the Guardians on Wednesday.

      Advice: Candelario hit a solo home run off Tanner Bibee in the first inning and followed it up with a three-run homer off Bibee to give the Reds a 4-2 lead in the sixth. He then added a single in the eighth. Candelario has been mashing in June, hitting .340 with five homers and 11 RBI through 11 contests. While Candelario's .243 season average still isn't great, he now has 11 home runs and 31 RBI in 248 plate appearances and is hitting in the heart of a hot Reds lineup.       Gleyber Torres went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer, two runs scored, and a walk in the Yankees’ 11-5 win over the Royals on Wednesday.

      Advice: Torres came into this game with hits in 12 of his last 13 games. After drawing a walk and scoring in the first inning, he blasted a three-run homer off Daniel Lynch in the seventh to give the Yankees a commanding lead.       Jeimer Candelario blasted a pair of homers and drove in four runs on Wednesday night, accounting for all of the Reds’ offense in a 4-2 victory over the Guardians.

      Advice: The 30-year-old infielder opened the scoring in the contest with a 404-foot (104.1 mph EV) solo shot off of Tanner Bibee. He then put the Reds ahead to stay with a 343-foot (96.9 mph EV) three-run blast that chased Bibee from the game in the sixth inning.       Jake Irvin was terrific in Wednesday’s victory over the Tigers, allowing just one run on six hits over six stellar frames.

      Advice: The 27-year-old hurler piled up five strikeouts on the night while allowing only one base on balls. The lone tally against him in this one came on a solo blast off the bat of Matt Vierling in the opening inning. Aside from that, he dominated the rest of the night. Irvin generated eight swings and misses on 98 pitches in the ballgame, registering a strong CSW of 34 percent.       Lopez (6-6) earned the win Wednesday over Colorado, allowing two runs on five hits over five innings. He struck out five.

      Advice: It was an encouraging outing for Lopez after he allowed seven runs and six walks in a loss to the Yankees in his last start. The right-hander notably didn't allow a free pass Wednesday. Overall, it's been an inconsistent first quarter of the season for Lopez -- his ERA sits at 5.33 with a 1.21 WHIP and 84:17 K:BB across 14 starts (76 innings).
