    • Cleared to start Saturday
Glasnow (hand) is scheduled to start Saturday's game against Atlanta at Dodger Stadium, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

Advice: Glasnow experienced hand cramps in his most recent start April 27, but he'll be ready to go on six days' rest in a series featuring two of the National League's top teams. The right-hander has gotten off to an excellent start to his tenure with the Dodgers, going 5-1 with a 2.72 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 53:12 K:BB across 43 innings through seven outings. • Seth Lugo holds Jays to one run, earns fifth win
Seth Lugo pitched seven innings of one-run ball in defeating the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

Advice: Lugo fanned eight today, giving him 17 strikeouts in his last two outings. He totaled just 14 in his first five starts of the year, so this is a big improvement. That he opened up 3-0 with a 1.05 ERA looked like a fluke, given where his stuff was at, but these last two wins have seemed quite a bit more legitimate. Rotoworld Today, 2:49 pm

    • Reaches six innings
Skenes allowed four hits and one walk while striking out seven across six scoreless innings Tuesday in an appearance with Triple-A Indianapolis.

Advice: Skenes continued his impressive run with Indianapolis, as he now has a total of 41 strikeouts across 23 innings pitched while maintaining a 0.39 ERA and 0.87 WHIP. Most importantly, he reached five innings in an outing for the first time in a start this season and tossed 75 pitches. The Pirates still haven't announced plans to promote Skenes to Pittsburgh, but he should be up in relatively short order. Rotowire.com Today, 12:22 am

    • Paul Skenes twirls six shutout frames at Triple-A
Pirates RHP prospect Paul Skenes struck out seven over six shutout innings on Tuesday for Triple-A Indianapolis.

Advice: Skenes touched triple digits 13 times, averaging 99.8 mph on his four-seam fastball, and needed just 75 pitches (53 strikes) to complete six frames for the first time in his professional career. He generated 11 swinging strikes and finished with a 31 percent CSW, allowing only five baserunners over six dominant innings. We’re not sure what else Pittsburgh’s front office needs to see at this juncture. The 21-year-old top pitching prospect boasts a microscopic 0.39 ERA and 41/6 K/BB ratio across 23 innings (six starts). It’s time. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:45 pm

    • Throwing bullpen session
Snell (thigh) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Wednesday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Advice: Snell landed on the shelf last week with a Grade 2 adductor strain, but he wasn't shut down from throwing for long. The left-hander hopes to spend close to the 15-day minimum on the injured list, though he seems likely to be sidelined a bit longer. A specific timeline for Snell's return could come into focus as he ramps up his throwing program. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:41 pm

    • Blake Snell throwing bullpen session Wednesday
Blake Snell (adductor) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Wednesday.

Advice: Snell hit the injured list last week with a left adductor strain, so it’s a positive sign that he’s ready to resume throwing already. The 31-year-old southpaw is aiming to return in early May without requiring anything beyond a minimum stay on the 15-day injured list. There should be an update on his potential return timeline at some point later this week depending on how he comes out of Wednesday’s throwing session. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:03 pm

    • Delivers 11-strikeout gem
Pfaadt did not factor into the decision in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Mariners. He allowed two runs on five hits while striking out 11 over six innings.

Advice: Pfaadt did not get off to an ideal start after allowing a leadoff home run to Josh Rojas, though he was able to settle in quickly with the only other extra-base hit being a triple by Leonardo Rivas. Pfaadt ended his day by retiring the final 11 batters he faced. His 11 strikeouts set a new career high, and he relied heavily on his sweeper, registering nine of his 17 whiffs on that pitch. He's now allowed two runs or fewer in three straight starts and will take a 4.63 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 38:6 K:BB into his next start, projected to come against San Diego next weekend. • Earns ugly win
Lopez (2-2) allowed four runs on four hits and a walk in five innings Sunday, striking out eight and picking up a win over the Angels.

Advice: Lopez tossed four shutout frames before the Angels caught fire in the fifth inning, plating four runs. Three of those runs came via back-to-back homers by Luis Rengifo and Nolan Schanuel. Lopez forced 13 whiffs after totaling just five in his last outing against the White Sox. Still, he saw his ERA climb to 4.83 through six starts. Lopez is currently in line for a home matchup with Boston next weekend. Rotowire.com Sunday, 6:47 pm

    • Pablo López defeats Angels to improve to 2-2
Pablo López picked up his second victory of the 2024 season on Sunday, limiting the Angels to four runs on four hits over his five innings of work.

Advice: López punched out eight batters on the afternoon while allowing only one base on balls. He kept the Angels off the board completely through the first four innings, but they saddled him with four runs in the fifth — courtesy of home runs from Luis Rengifo and Nolan Schanuel. López generated 13 swings and misses on 87 pitches in the contest, posting a strong CSW of 29 percent. He now holds a 4.83 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and a 37/7 K/BB ratio over 31 2/3 innings through his first six starts on the season. He’ll do battle against the Red Sox his next time out at home on Saturday.
