    • Gavin Stone struggles against Diamondbacks
Gavin Stone allowed four runs with three strikeouts over three innings in a no-decision against the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.

Advice: This wasn’t one Stone’s best outings as the Diamondbacks chased him after just three frames. A base hit and two walks loaded the bases before the Diamondbacks brought a run in on a sacrifice fly in the first inning. He worked around a bases-loaded jam in the second, then gave up three runs, including a two-run blast by Gabriel Moreno, in the third. That was it for Stone, ending his day with a 3.03 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and a 73/28 K/BB ratio across 92 innings. He’ll take on the Phillies in Philadelphia on Tuesday. • Grabs 21st save
Iglesias allowed a hit and struck out one over one scoreless inning to earn the save in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Giants.

Advice: Iglesias' last two outings were in non-save situations. He's on a five-inning scoreless streak and has given up just two runs across 10.1 innings since the start of June. For the season, the closer has a 2.27 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 28:7 K:BB through 31.2 innings while converting 21 of 23 save opportunities. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:56 pm
    • Josh Smith knocks in run with a double
Josh Smith went 1-for-4 an RBI double on Wednesday against the Padres.

Advice: Smith’s double was the third Rangers’ run in a three-run third inning off Adam Mazur. It felt like they’d be in for a big night before being shut down by the Padres bullpen. Still, Smith will not stop hitting and he’s slotted in either second or third the Rangers’ lineup for 12 straight games. Hit smack dab in the middle of Marcus Semien, Corey Seager, Adolis García, and Wyatt Langford is a great place to accumulate runs and RBI. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:55 pm

    • Blake Snell dominates in final rehab start
Blake Snell delivered a dominant performance in his final minor league rehab start at Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday, piling up nine strikeouts over five scoreless frames.

Advice: The reigning National League Cy Young award winner didn’t allow a hit in the contest, allowing just one base on balls. Snell got up to 67 pitches (46 strikes) in this one, cruising through his five innings. As long as he checks out fine physically, expect him to rejoin the Giants’ rotation next week. • Raisel Iglesias earns 21st save of the season
Raisel Iglesias allowed a hit and struck out a batter on Wednesday to nail down the save against the Giants.

Advice: Iglesias continues to stymie the opposition despite not putting up the same gaudy strikeout totals as his other late-inning relief counterparts. His 21 saves are fourth most in the league while both his 2.27 ERA and 0.88 WHIP are lights out. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:01 pm
    • Not in lineup Wednesday
Kjerstad is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against Seattle.

Advice: Kjerstad will begin Wednesday's game in the dugout after going 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in Tuesday's 2-0 win over the Mariners. Austin Hays will start in left field and bat seventh against Seattle right-hander Logan Gilbert. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:31 pm
    • Jordan Romano (elbow) has arthroscopic surgery
The Blue Jays announced Wednesday that Jordan Romano underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair an impingement in his right elbow.

Advice: Jays’ manager John Schnieder told reporters that he’ll be shut down completely for the next six weeks before he’s able to resume throwing. That means there’s no certainty that he’ll be able to return before the end of the 2024 season. Fantasy managers in redraft leagues without IL spots can safely cut bait on the 31-year-old closer. Expect Chad Green to continue holding down the fort in the ninth inning for the time being. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:16 pm

    • Undergoes elbow surgery
Romano underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow Tuesday to repair an impingement and will be shut down from throwing for at least six weeks, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The 31-year-old has been unavailable due to elbow issues since late May, and it's now unclear whether he'll be able to pitch again this year. Romano missed the first couple weeks of the season with elbow problems and never looked himself in the six weeks he was available with a 6.59 ERA in 15 appearances. Chad Green has stepped up as Toronto's closer with Yimi Garcia (elbow) also on the injured list. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:15 pm

    • Could return as second baseman
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts stated over the weekend that he may consider having Betts (wrist) play primarily at second base upon his return, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: The consideration to shift Betts back to second base from shortstop is primarily due to the impressive performance of Miguel Rojas, who has played excellent defense, as usual, while adding a surprisingly potent bat (he's slashing .291/.337/.437 over 164 plate appearances). The versatile Betts is no stranger to second base; he played a career-high 70 games at the position last year after beginning the campaign in the outfield. Betts was then asked to move to shortstop ahead of 2024 despite never having logged time there in the majors prior to 2023, and he's performed adequately defensively despite a few hiccups. It remains to be seen if the Dodgers will ultimately pursue having Betts and Rojas form their middle infield for most games, and Roberts has time to think through that scenario since Betts remains several weeks away from returning. He threw and ran Tuesday, per the Associated Press, but hasn't yet swung a bat. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:18 pm
