    • Tyler Anderson throws quality start in no-decision
Tyler Anderson pitched 6 2/3 innings of one-run ball Monday against the Padres.

Advice: Anderson has made a mockery of the metrics all season, but especially lately; his last four starts have seen him allow a total of four runs even though he’s given up three homers and posted a 14/13 K/BB ratio in 26 2/3 innings. His 2.37 ERA on the year is more than two runs lower than his FIP. One imagines it will all catch up with him at some point. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:19 pm
    • Yields one run in no-decision
Anderson allowed a run on five hits and three walks over 6.2 innings in a no-decision Monday. He struck out two during the victory against San Diego.

Advice: Anderson served up a solo shot to Manny Machado in the first inning but otherwise worked around danger for the rest of the night. Anderson has given up exactly one run in four straight outings despite registering a lackluster 14:13 K:BB during that span. On the year, his ERA is down to an impressive 2.37, while he's delivered eight quality starts in 12 appearances. Anderson's next start is in line to be at home against the Astros. • Homers, swipes bag
Hoskins went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, a walk and a stolen base in Monday's 3-1 loss to Philadelphia.

Advice: Hoskins' seventh-inning blast off Zack Wheeler was the Brewers' only run of the night. The 31-year-old still managed to be productive, however, notching his second stolen base of the season in a strong all-around performance. Since being activated off the 15-day injured list May 31, Hoskins has started three of four games for the Brewers, batting 4-for-10 with one home run and one steal. • Seven strong innings in win
Wheeler (7-3) earned the win Monday against Milwaukee, allowing one earned run on five hits and three walks over seven innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Wheeler nearly pitched seven shutout innings, but he surrendered a solo home run to former teammate Rhys Hoskins with two outs in the seventh inning. Wheeler turned in his fourth consecutive quality start Monday, bringing his season total to 10. Wheeler has pitched to a 2.23 ERA and 0.97 WHIP with 91 strikeouts in 80.2 innings this season, all of which rank top 10 in the league. He will look to keep rolling in his next start, tentatively scheduled for next Tuesday in Boston. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:10 pm

    • Rhys Hoskins blasts solo homer in return to Philly
Rhys Hoskins walloped a solo homer and also stole a base on Monday in the Brewers’ loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Hoskins walked and stole a base in the early stages of his first appearance back in Philadelphia since departing last offseason for Milwaukee before taking former teammate Zack Wheeler deep in the seventh inning for his 10th round-tripper of the season, breaking up a potential shutout in the process. The 31-year-old slugger missed a couple weeks last month with a hamstring strain, but hasn’t skipped a beat with four hits in 11 at-bats over three contests since returning. • Zack Wheeler tosses seven innings to beat Brewers
Zack Wheeler yielded one run over seven innings on Monday in a win over the Brewers.

Advice: Wheeler carried a shutout bid into the seventh inning before coughing up a solo shot to former teammate Rhys Hoskins and wound up requiring a season-high 114 pitches (67 strikes) to navigate seven frames. He finished with six strikeouts and also handed out a trio of free passes. The 34-year-old right-hander has been one of the most consistent upper-echelon fantasy starters in the game for the last few years and hasn’t skipped a beat this season, allowing three earned runs or fewer in 11 of his 13 outings. He’ll carry a sparkling 2.23 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 91/26 K/BB ratio across 80 2/3 innings (13 starts) into a road tilt next Tuesday against the Red Sox at historic Fenway Park. • Set to begin rehab assignment
Reds manager David Bell said Monday that Marte (suspension) is scheduled to begin his rehab assignment June 11, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Advice: Marte is nearing the end of his 80-game suspension due to violating MLB's joint drug prevention and treatment program. After ramping up his activity in the Dominican Republic, Marte will travel to the United States and will likely begin his rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville, per Mark Sheldon of MLB.com. Bell noted that Marte will mostly play third base in his assignment, but the 22-year-old will also get some reps at shortstop and second base. Marte is eligible to return from his suspension June 27. • Noelvi Marte set for minor league games
Noelvi Marte, currently 59 games into an 80-game PED suspension, will begin playing in minor league games on June 11.

Advice: Marte will be eligible to rejoin the Reds on June 27, unless that’s pushed back a day or two by rainouts. If he performs well in the minors, he’ll probably be activated then, but it’s also possible he’ll need more time and get sent down for a spell. The Reds plan to keep him in the mix and second and short, but he’ll get the majority of his time at third in the minors. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:57 pm

    • Getting sore elbow checked out
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said Monday that Gasser is dealing with "some tightness, soreness" in his left elbow and is in the process of receiving a second opinion, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: Gasser last pitched Saturday versus the White Sox, yielding three runs over five innings of work in a no-decision. He had been lined up to pitch in this week's series in Philadelphia, but clearly his status in the short and long term is now up in the air. Gasser dealt with an elbow problem earlier this season, as well, which delayed his season debut at Triple-A Nashville. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:42 pm
