Kepler (elbow) went 1-for-5 in a win over the A's in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader.

Advice: After being hit by a pitch on the elbow Friday, Kepler was held out Saturday and for the first game of Sunday's twin bill. He was back in the lineup for Game 2, however, and appears to be in the clear moving forward. Trade rumors have followed Kepler for several seasons, but he continues to fill a prominent role against right-handed pitching for Minnesota. The 31-year-old remains an above-average offensive contributor thanks in part to the limited exposure to lefties (.261/.323/.426 overall this season). Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:38 pm

    • Two doubles in nightcap
Castro went 3-for-5 with two doubles and two runs scored in an 8-7 win over the Athletics in Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader.

Advice: Castro went 0-for-3 with a walk in the day game, but he redeemed himself with a strong showing in the nightcap. This was his third multi-hit effort in his last five contests. The 27-year-old is up to a .261/.350/.416 slash line with five home runs, eight stolen bases, 18 RBI, 40 runs scored, 15 doubles and four triples over 71 games this season. Between his speed and his defensive versatility, Castro can provide some quality depth for fantasy managers. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:02 pm

    • Lit up Sunday
Wheeler (8-4) suffered the loss Sunday, allowing eight runs on nine hits and two walks over 4.1 innings against the Orioles. He struck out four.

Advice: It was a long day for Wheeler, who allowed four homers after having previously allowed only six long balls over his first 14 starts this season. The eight earned runs allowed matched a career high for Wheeler, who hadn't given up that many in a start since 2018. Sunday's poor effort raised his ERA from 2.16 to 2.84. Wheeler had won his previous eight decisions prior to Sunday's loss, which dropped him to 8-4 on the season. He'll look to get back on track during his next start, currently slated to take place next weekend when the Diamondbacks come to Philly for a rematch of last season's NLCS. • Roughed up in loss
Lively (6-3) took the loss Sunday against Toronto, yielding four earned runs on six hits and three walks in four innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Lively pitched for the first time in eight days after leaving his most recent start with tightness after 65 pitches. He surrendered a two-run home run to Ernie Clement in the second inning, his first home run allowed since May 26. The four earned runs are a season worst for the 32-year-old, who had notched wins in each of his previous five starts. Despite Sunday's rough outing, Lively has pitched well for Cleveland this season, logging a 3.02 ERA, a 1.19 WHIP and a 52:18 K:BB across 59.2 innings pitched. He is currently scheduled for a rematch against Toronto next weekend. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:22 pm

    • Could be back Wednesday
Cole (elbow) could be reinstated from the 60-day injured list to start Wednesday's game versus the Orioles at Yankee Stadium, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The Yankees have confirmed Nestor Cortes and Luis Gil as their starting pitchers for games Tuesday and Thursday versus Baltimore, but a starter has yet to be made for Wednesday while the club weighs whether to activate Cole for his season debut or to have him make another minor-league rehab start. While shifting his assignment from Double-A Somerset to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Cole delivered a gem in his third rehab outing Friday, striking out 10 over 4.1 innings while allowing one unearned run on two hits and no walks. He tossed 70 pitches in the start, so Cole would likely have a slight cap on his workload if he were to rejoin the New York rotation Wednesday. If the Yankees decide to have Cole make one more start in the minors, Cody Poteet would likely get another turn through the big-league rotation. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:16 pm

    • Max Kepler (elbow) returns to Twins lineup
Max Kepler (elbow) returned to the Twins’ starting lineup for the nightcap of Sunday’s doubleheader against the Athletics.

Advice: Kepler was held out of the team’s starting lineup on Saturday — before that game was washed out by rain. He then sat out the first game of Sunday’s twin bill with a left-hander on the hill for the A’s, but he’s right back in his customary cleanup spot in the order for the second game on Sunday night. • Zack Wheeler bombarded by Orioles
Zack Wheeler allowed eight earned runs in 4 1/3 innings on Sunday in a loss to the Orioles. He struck out four and walked two.

Advice: This was Wheeler’s worst start as a Phillie and the first time he’s allowed eight earned runs since 2018. Baltimore jumped on him with homers in each of the first three innings and then Jordan Westburg put the cherry on top with his three-run blast. Even the best pitchers in baseball have a day like this and it’s less surprising when it comes against one of the best lineups in baseball. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:44 pm
    • Lively gives up four in loss to Blue Jays Sunday
Ben Lively allowed four runs in four innings and got the loss against the Blue Jays on Sunday.

Advice: Lively gave up six hits, walked three and struck out four. He had won his last five starts. Lively had allowed two runs through the first four innings. He was removed after walking Spencer Horwitz and Davis Schneider to begin the fifth inning. Both runners scored on Daulton Varsho’s grand slam off Nick Sandlin. Lively isn’t as good as his 3.02 ERA suggests given his 4.15 xFIP. He’s benefited greatly from an 85 percent left on base percentage and that caught it up with him a little bit on Sunday. He’s still been a really good find off the waiver wire for fantasy managers. The 32-year-old right-hander is set to face the Blue Jays at home next week.

    • Remains out of lineup
Doyle (knee) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates.

Advice: Doyle will take a seat for the second day in a row while he manages left patella tendinitis. Jake Cave will step in as the Rockies' starting center field in place of Doyle, who can be viewed as day-to-day heading into the team's four-game home set with the Dodgers that begins Monday.
