      Rodriguez (shoulder) "feels much better" and hopes to be reinstated once he becomes eligible May 15, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reported Tuesday.

      Advice: Rodriguez has battled inflammation in his shoulder throughout May. However, per Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com, his move to the 15-day IL was to prevent the issue from growing into anything larger, and he could return to the O's without a rehab start.       Candelario (shin) is starting at third base and batting eighth Tuesday against the Diamondbacks.

      Advice: The 30-year-old was scratched from Sunday's starting nine due to a left shin contusion but is good to go following Monday's team off day.       Duran struck out two batters in a scoreless eighth inning and earned a hold during Monday's win over Seattle.

      Advice: Duran was called upon to face the Mariners' 9-1-2 hitters in a 3-1 contest. After earning a save in each of his first two appearances of 2024, he's picked up a hold in his last two games. Duran is the primary closing option in Minnesota but it appears there may be more of a committee than expected. Last season, he converted 27 of 32 saves and picked up only one hold.       Castillo (3-5) yielded three runs on three hits over 6.2 innings Monday, striking out seven and taking a loss against the Twins.

      Advice: Castillo fired four shutout frames before the Twins broke the scoreless tie in the fifth inning. He later was charged with two more runs in the seventh. Entering Monday's start, Castillo had turned in four straight outings with two or fewer earned runs allowed. He's factored into the decision in each of his eight starts and snapped his three-game winning streak Monday. Despite the up-and-down start to his season, Castillo has registered a solid 3.54 ERA with a 56:11 K:BB through 48.1 innings.       Luis Castillo gave up three runs — two earned — over 6 2/3 innings in a loss Monday to the Twins.

      Advice: Castillo allowed just an unearned run over the first six, but two more crossed the plate in the seventh. The right-hander struck out seven against three walks, and it was another solid outing for the 31-year-old right-hander.       Greene went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Monday's 2-1 loss to the Guardians.

      Advice: Greene got Detroit on the board early, belting a leadoff home run against Triston McKenzie in the top of the first inning. However, he and his teammates went quiet from there. Fantasy managers won't mind too much, as the young outfielder now has four home runs over his last seven games, which has pushed him up to nine long balls for the season.       Riley Greene went 1-for-5 with a home run on the first pitch of the game against the Guardians on Monday.

      Advice: Greene didn’t wait long to get the Tigers on the board, unfortunately for Detroit, it was the only run of the game. The 23-year-old’s solo shot went 424 feet to deep right center field and he now has nine home runs on the season. The only other players with more home runs in baseball this season?     • Bryan Woo could be activated this weekend
      The Seattle Times’ Adam Jude suggests that Bryan Woo (elbow) could be activated form the IL this weekend to face the Athletics.

      Advice: Woo was impressive in his last start at Triple-A, throwing 66 pitches while averaging 95.7 mph on his fastball. He now has a 17-to-0 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 11 1/3 scoreless innings across his three rehab appearances with Tacoma, while allowing just five hits. However, Jude notes that “the team wants to see how Woo feels over the next couple of days before finalizing plans to activate him.” With Emerson Hancock set to make his start against the Twins on Tuesday, his turn in the rotation would come up again this weekend against Oakland, and Woo could be activated to take his place. He certainly looks ready and Jude confirms that, “The club does not plan to go with a six-man rotation and would prefer to keep Hancock stretched out in Triple-A, as opposed to keep him in the majors to pitch out of the bullpen.” Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:04 pm
