    • Return before break not ruled out
Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Thursday that Realmuto (knee) is working out at 70-to-75 percent intensity, Corey Seidman of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Advice: Realmuto is three weeks removed from right meniscus surgery and is progressing nicely. The club is not ruling out a return for their starting catcher prior to the All-Star break if he proves to be ready by then, but it's probably more likely that Realmuto is held out until the start of the second half. • Fans eight in loss
Rodon allowed three runs on three hits and two walks while striking out eight batters over 5.1 innings in a loss to Cincinnati on Wednesday.

Advice: Though he logged his fourth straight defeat, this was a bounce-back effort of sorts for Rodon after he surrendered 21 runs (20 earned) over 13.2 innings across his previous three starts. The veteran hurler did, however, continue to struggle with the long ball Wednesday, yielding multiple homers for the third straight outing. Rodon has given up seven home runs during that three-game stretch, and his 18 homers allowed on the campaign is tied for third most in the majors. Rotowire.com Today, 12:23 am

    • Continues to roll with 19th save
Diaz earned a save against the Yankees on Wednesday, allowing one walk in a scoreless inning.

Advice: Diaz entered in the ninth frame to protect a one-run lead and was successful despite issuing a leadoff walk. The Cincinnati closer has tossed seven straight scoreless outings, allowing just one hit during that span while recording five saves. Diaz has rebounded well from his early season struggles, as he's been successful in each of his past 13 save opportunities and has registered a 1.53 ERA across 17.2 frames over that stretch. • Josh Smith knocks in run with a double
Josh Smith went 1-for-4 an RBI double on Wednesday against the Padres.

Advice: Smith’s double was the third Rangers’ run in a three-run third inning off Adam Mazur. It felt like they’d be in for a big night before being shut down by the Padres bullpen. Still, Smith will not stop hitting and he’s slotted in either second or third the Rangers’ lineup for 12 straight games. Hit smack dab in the middle of Marcus Semien, Corey Seager, Adolis García, and Wyatt Langford is a great place to accumulate runs and RBI. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:55 pm

    • Bobby Witt Jr. on base three times in win
Bobby Witt Jr. went 2-for-3 with a double, RBI, two runs scored, and a walk on Wednesday against the Rays.

Advice: Witt paced the Royals in this one and was the engine for their offense. His third inning double got them on the board and a key walk in the seventh set Salvador Perez up for his huge two-run single to put this game out of reach. Witt remains one of the most productive and dependable players in baseball with a .314/.366/.543 slash line to go along with 13 home runs and 22 stolen bases. That’s not a bad first half for a 24-year-old. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:13 pm

    • Alexis Díaz quiets Yankees to notch 19th save
Alexis Díaz tossed a scoreless ninth inning on Wednesday against the Yankees to record his 19th save of the season.

Advice: Díaz was called upon to protect a one-run lead in the final frame at Yankee Stadium and immediately got into trouble by issuing a leadoff walk to light-hitting backstop Austin Wells. Fortunately, he managed to wriggle out of the jam by coaxing a double-play ball from ensuing batter Anthony Volpe before getting Juan Soto to fly out to extinguish the threat. He’s converted 19 of 21 save opportunities this season for Cincinnati. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:08 pm
    • Carlos Rodón fans eight, allows two homers in loss
Carlos Rodón struck out eight and allowed three runs over 5 1/3 innings on Wednesday in a loss to the Reds.

Advice: Rodón struggled once again to keep the ball in the yard, serving up a two-run homer to Noelvi Marte in the second inning before coughing up a solo shot to Stuart Fairchild a couple frames later. He kept Cincinnati’s lineup in check otherwise, allowing just one additional hit and three walks. The most encouraging development here from a fantasy standpoint was that he piled up an eye-popping 15 swinging strikes, and finished with a 33 percent CSW, despite some diminished velocity across the board. There’s still some work to be done here, but Rodón didn’t look completely cooked in this one, which qualifies as an encouraging development. He’ll square off against the division-rival Rays on Tuesday in his next outing, Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:07 pm

    • On bench again
Hamilton is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Hamilton is absent from the starting nine for the third time in the last four games, with Wednesday's contest being the first against a left-handed pitcher. Romy Gonzalez will play second base and Ceddanne Rafaela will play shortstop. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:10 pm

    • Fans seven in quality start
Skubal came away with a no-decision Tuesday, giving up three runs on four hits and a walk over six innings as the Tigers fell 5-3 to the Twins. He struck out seven.

Advice: While he mostly kept traffic off the bases, a two-run double by Royce Lewis (groin) in the third inning and a solo shot by Manuel Margot in the fifth helped deny Skubal his 10th win of the year. The southpaw did collect his 12th quality start of the season, and he'll take a 2.45 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 119:20 K:BB through 103 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come on the road this weekend in Cincinnati.
