    • Keeps rolling for 16th save
Suarez earned a save against the Marlins on Monday, striking out one batter in a perfect inning of work.

Advice: Suarez was summoned in the ninth frame to protect a one-run lead and had no trouble doing so, retiring the side in order on 14 pitches. The right-hander came into the campaign with a loose grip on the ninth-inning role for the Padres but has emerged as one of the league's top first-half closers with 16 saves (in 16 chances) while posting a 0.73 ERA, 0.69 WHIP and 24:5 K:BB over 24.2 innings. Prior to this season, Suarez had just one save over 71 major-league appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:06 pm
    • Suarez picks up 16th save against Marlins Monday
Robert Suarez tossed a scoreless inning and picked up the save against the Marlins on Monday.

Advice: The save was Suarez’ 16th of the season. He lowered his ERA to 0.73 on the season. While the Padres’ closer situation was ambiguous going into the season, Suarez has grabbed the job and run with it to the point where he’s been one of the best closers in all of fantasy this season. • Lands on IL with hamstring strain
The Mariners placed Polanco on the 10-day injured list Monday due to a right hamstring strain.

Advice: Polanco was replaced by Josh Rojas in the sixth inning of Sunday's 9-5 win over the Nationals, with the former going 1-for-2 with an RBI before exiting. Polanco missed seven games earlier in May due to a right hamstring issue, and the 30-year-old will spend time on the injured list this time around. General manager Justin Hollander said Monday that while Polanco has not yet undergone an MRI, he is not expected to be sidelined long, per Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM. The Mariners selected Ryan Bliss from Triple-A Tacoma in a corresponding move, and he will start at second base Monday and bat eighth against Astros southpaw Framber Valdez. • Jorge Polanco (hamstring) goes on IL for Mariners
Mariners placed INF Jorge Polanco on the 10-day injured list with a strained right hamstring.

Advice: Polanco aggravated the hamstring Sunday in his fifth appearance back after an eight-day absence due to the same injury. He’s hitting just .195/.293/.302 this season, so the break might be best for everyone. The Mariners will use Dylan Moore and Ryan Bliss at second base for now. The injury should also open up some playing time for Mitch Haniger, who has been sitting against righties with Moore seeing starts in the outfield. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:12 pm

    • Roughed up in loss
Criswell (2-2) took the loss Monday against Baltimore, yielding seven runs (six earned) on six hits and one walk in four innings. He struck out two.

Advice: Criswell didn't allow a home run, but he gave up four doubles and a triple in his worst outing of the season thus far. The 27-year-old had not allowed more than three earned runs in any appearance before Monday, and his ERA ballooned from 2.86 to 3.96 as a result. The right-hander's two strikeouts Monday represented his lowest tally since April 18, and he will look to improve on that number in his next scheduled start, tentatively slated for this weekend against Detroit. • Cooper Criswell hit hard in loss to Orioles
Cooper Criswell was torched for seven runs (six earned) over four innings on Monday in a loss to the Orioles.

Advice: Criswell served up six hits with extra-base hits from Jordan Westburg, Kyle Stowers and Cedric Mullins accounting for the majority of the damage against him. The 27-year-old righty has proved to be a viable temporary stopgap for the Red Sox, allowing three earned runs or fewer in eight of nine starts this season in the big leagues, but he might be a better fit as a swingman as opposed to a traditional starter in the long run. He’ll aim to rebound on Saturday when he faces the Tigers at Fenway Park. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:41 pm

    • Justin Turner on the bench again
Justin Turner is on the bench for Monday’s game against the White Sox.

Advice: Turner got a day off on Sunday, but he remains out of the lineup on Monday with Daniel Vogelbach starting at designated hitter again. The 39-year-old is slashing just .222/.301/.359 in 173 plate appearances in 2024 with four home runs and 18 RBI. It’s possible that the Blue Jays will look to get at-bats for other players in his place, and fantasy managers can certainly look to do the same with a hot bat on the waiver wire. • Out of lineup again Monday
Turner is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the White Sox.

Advice: Turner has now been absent from the lineup for two straight games and three times over his club's last five contests. He did enter the game twice over that stretch as a pinch hitter and will be an option to do so again Monday when/if the White Sox put a left-handed reliever in. Daniel Vogelbach will start at designated hitter Monday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:52 am

    • Hitting streak reaches 19
Volpe went 1-for-3 with a walk, a steal and a run scored in Sunday's loss to the Padres.

Advice: Volpe extended his hitting streak to 19 games with a single in the sixth inning. He would then steal second and come around to score off a Juan Soto double to open up the scoring and force Joe Musgrove out of the game. His hit streak is the longest by a Yankee since Derek Jeter in 2012. Volpe is currently tied for sixth in the American League with 61 hits and tied for fifth with 11 steals. The 23-year-old has been thriving in the leadoff spot for the majority of the season and is now slashing .282/.355/.435 with 18 extra-base hits, 23 RBI, 36 runs and a 22:52 BB:K in 244 plate appearances.
