    • Nick Lodolo efficient in win over Cubs
Nick Lodolo allowed two runs on seven hits in a win over the Cubs on Sunday.

Advice: Lodolo struck out three and walked one on the day. Nothing he gave up was hit overly hard, but he also didn’t miss many bats either with just eight whiffs on 42 swings for a 19 percent whiff rate and 29 percent CSW. Still, he survived a solid Cubs offense and now has a 3.11 ERA heading into a rematch in Cincinnati next week. Rotoworld 37 minutes ago

    • Ben Brown struggles in follow-up to no-hit effort
Ben Brown allowed five runs on six hits in five innings in a loss to the Reds on Sunday.

Advice: Brown struck out six and walked one, but he was far more hittable in this one than last week. Brown did post a 32 percent whiff rate and 36 percent CSW on the day, but much of that was on the back of his curveball, which is a strong pitch. His four-seam fastball is less impressive, and Brown threw it 70 percent of the time on Sunday, which is part of the downside of Brown as a two-pitch pitcher. Brown has a 3.33 ERA on the season and has clear strikeout upside, but his limited pitch mix will make him a volatile fantasy asset and with Jordan Wicks set to return from the injured list, there’s no telling how many more starts Brown will make after next week’s start in Cincinnati. • Quinn Priester hit hard, loses again
Quinn Priester allowed four earned runs in 4 ⅔ innings on Sunday against the Blue Jays. He struck out three and surrendered eight hits in a loss.

Advice: Nothing Priester did fooled the Blue Jays in this one as they had 12 hard-hit balls and were on everything. Priester is yet to be effective as a major league pitcher and will need to find some way to complement his fantastic slider in order to do so. The loss was his fifth of the season without a win. • Third straight quality start
Brown did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing three runs on five hits and one walk over six innings against the Twins. He struck out seven.

Advice: Brown allowed two solo homers, one to leadoff the game by Trevor Larnach and a blast in the sixth by Jose Miranda. Those two dingers sandwiched a second inning run-scoring double by Alex Kirilloff to represent the three tallies against Brown. The sixth-inning homer eliminated Browns chance to pick up his second win, though he did collect his third straight quality start. While Brown's season ERA remains at 6.18, he's been much better over his last five starts, accumulating a 3.53 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 31 strikeouts over 28 innings. His next start is tentatively slated for next weekend when the Astros travel to Anaheim to take on the Angels in a three-game set. Rotowire.com Today, 1:37 pm

    • Hunter Brown fans seven in no-decision
Hunter Brown wasn’t involved in the decision Sunday after allowing three runs in six innings versus the Twins.

Advice: Brown struck out seven and walked just one, so that’s good. Unfortunately, he gave up two homers, bringing his season total to 11 surrendered in 55 1/3 innings. He’s still looking much better than he did a month ago, and he’s a decent play in mixed leagues with the Angels next on the schedule. Rotoworld Today, 1:21 pm

    • Abrams scratched again Sunday against Guardians
CJ Abrams was scratched from Sunday’s lineup against the Guardians due to illness.

Advice: Never mind. Abrams was scratched Saturday due to illness, and the infielder was back in the lineup Sunday originally only to have the same thing occur. The infielder should be considered day-to-day. Ildemaro Vargas is starting at shortstop in his place. Rotoworld Today, 9:54 am

    • Scratched again Sunday
Abrams (shoulder) was scratched from Sunday's lineup against the Guardians, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Advice: Abrams was penciled in to start at shortstop and bat leadoff but has instead been scratched for the second straight game due to a jammed left shoulder. The 23-year-old should be considered day-to-day heading into Monday's series opener versus the Mets. Ildemaro Vargas will start at shortstop Sunday in place of Abrams. Rotowire.com Today, 9:49 am

    • Pirates recall Priester to start Sunday vs. TOR
Pirates recalled RHP Quinn Priester from Triple-A Indianapolis.

Advice: Priester will get the ball as expected to take the rotation spot of Martin Perez, with Perez on the injured list due to a groin strain. Priester has registered a 4.33 ERA and 17/10 K/BB over his 27 innings across five starts. There’s some long-term upside in his right arm, but fantasy managers shouldn’t rush out to add him to their roster. Rotoworld Today, 9:28 am
    • CJ Abrams (illness) back in lineup Sunday vs. CLE
CJ Abrams (illness) is back in the starting lineup and hitting leadoff against the Guardians on Sunday.

Advice: Abrams was a late scratch from the lineup for Saturday’s tilt with Cleveland because of illness, but it was deemed precautionary, and being inserted into the lineup a day later suggests it was just that. Rotoworld Today, 9:07 am
