  • Michael Harris II (hamstring) heading to 10-day IL
    Braves’ manager Brian Snitker told reporters after Friday’s game that Michael Harris II will be placed on the 10-day injured list on Saturday.

    Advice: The 23-year-old outfielder was pulled from Friday’s game in the first inning due to tightness in his left hamstring. He’ll undergo an MRI exam on Saturday to determine the severity of the injury, but he’s going to miss at least a couple of weeks. With Ronald Acuna Jr. already lost for the year and Harris now out for an indefinite amount of time, don’t be surprised if the Braves aggressively pursue the trade market for help at the position.     Will Brennan homered and doubled Friday in the Guardians’ 3-1 victory over the Blue Jays.

    Advice: Brennan homered for the first time since May 19 and doubled for the first time since May 7. The Guardians can and should try to do a little better in the outfield prior to the deadline.   • Austin Riley wakes up with three hits, homer
    Austin Riley went 3-for-4 with a home run, double, three RBI, and two runs scored against the Rays on Friday.

    Marcell Ozuna went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer, walk, and two runs scored against the Rays on Friday.

    Advice: Ozuna got the Braves going early, taking Zack Littell deep to the opposite field in the first inning and Atlanta wouldn’t look back.     Advice: Thomas provided the big blow in the Nationals' seven-run third inning, cranking a three-run homer off Shaun Anderson, his fifth this season. The 28-year-old outfielder extended his hit streak to eight games -- he's gone 10-for-29 (.345) in that span.   • MRI reveals significant strain
    Manager Dave Martinez said Friday that Gallo's MRI revealed a "significant hamstring strain," Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports.

    Advice: Martinez didn't give a return timeline for Gallo, simply saying that the 30-year-old will be out for "a while." Joey Meneses has been acting as Washington's primary first baseman since Gallo landed on the injured list Wednesday, but it's possible the Nationals decide to add someone from their farm system or outside the organization to help split the workload.     Advice: Thomas has once again been a dynamo this season in the heart of the Nationals’ order. The home run was his fifth in just 40 games - a 20 homer pace - to go along with 16 stolen bases.     Caballero was removed from Friday's game against Atlanta due to an illness, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.
