• Paul Goldschmidt homers, knocks in two in win
Paul Goldschmidt snapped his skid with a solo homer and an RBI single as the Cardinals edged the Brewers 4-3 on Sunday.

Advice: Goldschmidt was 1-for-32 with 14 strikeouts this month. He did strike out twice more today, and his current 32% K rate is one reason to think he won’t be bouncing all of the way back from this hideous start. Still, things have to get better from here. He’s batting .197/.280/.279. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:46 pm
  • Spencer Torkelson gets first homer of 2024
Spencer Torkelson finally hit his first homer of the season Sunday against the Astros.

Advice: It was about as meaningless as a homer can be, coming with the Tigers down 9-1 with two outs in the ninth, but let’s not worry about that. Torkelson, who hit 31 homers last season, got his first today in his 164th plate appearances and 38th game. He had four doubles in his previous six games, so it did seem like the drought was due to end. His OPS has climbed from .553 on May 4 to .627 now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:03 pm
  • Wisdom has three hits, HR in win over Pirates
Patrick Wisdom went 3-for-4 with a home run in the Cubs’ win over the Pirates on Sunday.

Advice: Wisdom laced a solo home run off Aroldis Chapman in the 10th inning that traveled 412 feet and left the bat at 106.8 mph. He also had a 105.5 mph single off Bailey Falter earlier in the game. The Cubs are only using him against left-handed pitching but that has helped his results so far this season, so he can be useful in deeper formats if the Cubs face a collection of lefties in a given week. • Connor Joe has two hits, HR in loss to Cubs
Connor Joe went 2-for-4 with a home run and a double in a loss to the Cubs on Sunday.

Advice: Joe had a big 10th-inning home run off Adbert Alzolay that left the bat at 109.4 mph and brought the Pirates to within one. He also had a 102 mph double earlier in the game and has been seeing the ball well. He also made five starts for the Pirates this week and has been starting to play more regularly, which would be huge for his fantasy value. If he can continue to draw semi-regular starts against right-handed pitchers, he can be scooped up in all 15-team formats. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:33 pm

  • David Fry hits two-run homer, reaches three times
David Fry hit a two-run homer and walked twice Sunday against the White Sox.

Advice: The Guardians barely played Fry against righties during the season’s first five weeks, but this is the third time in the last four such games that he’s been included in the lineup and his homer today came off a righty in Mike Soroka. He should be a top-15 fantasy catcher if the Guardians keep using him like this. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:12 pm

  • Yandy Díaz homers in second straight game
Yandy Díaz went 1-for-4 with a walk, a home run, and two runs scored in a loss to the Yankees.

Advice: Díaz had a strong series against the Yankees, going 6-for-11 with two home runs across the three games. He’s starting to heat up a bit at the plate and has raised his slash line to .250/.313/.356 with three home runs and 19 RBI. The Rays lineup should trend up in the coming months, and Díaz could be starting to heat up as the summer approaches. Now might be the time to try and see if you can acquire him in a trade. • Paul Goldschmidt strikes out four times in return
Paul Goldschmidt went 1-for-5 with four strikeouts on Saturday in the Cardinals’ loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Yikes. Goldschmidt was unable to really get anything going in his return to St. Louis’ lineup after receiving a couple days off to mentally reset and work on his swing. The 36-year-old veteran first baseman, who was the National League’s MVP Award winner just two seasons ago, is off to the worst start of his career, batting .190 (27-for-142) with two homers, 11 RBI and one steal through 37 contests. Perhaps the most alarming aspect of his early-season decline is that he’s striking out at a career-worst 31.7 percent clip so far. Simply put, it’s not what you want. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:34 am
  • Smacks key homer
Joe went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run Saturday against the Cubs.

Advice: Joe lifted a three-run home run in the third inning, his fourth long ball of the campaign. He's hit well overall this season, which has helped him move from a short-side platoon role to a role as a near-everyday player. Joe has started eight of Pittsburgh's last 10 games, filling in for Rowdy Tellez at first base against lefties and for Michael Taylor in the outfield against righties. • Three hits, homer in win
Diaz went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's win over the Yankees.

Advice: Diaz jumped on Nestor Cortes' first pitch of the bottom of the first inning, sending it over the left-field wall for his second long ball of the season. He didn't stop there, doubling twice (with one of them plating another run) and finishing with three runs scored. Diaz already has five multi-hit games this month, elevating his average from .220 to .250. Rotowire.com Saturday, 6:03 pm
