• Rhys Hoskins homers, but Brewers routed by Yankees
Rhys Hoskins hit a solo homer in a blowout loss Saturday to the Yankees.

Advice: Hoskins homered in the first inning off Carlos Rodón to get the Brewers to within two runs at 3-1. The Brewers would only get one more hit off the left-hander and would end up losing by a dozen. Hoskins now has six homers, 18 RBI and a .781 OPS in his first month as a member of the Brew Crew. • Swats homer in win
Mountcastle went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 7-0 win over the Athletics.

Advice: The long ball was Mountcastle's first hit in three games since he recovered from a minor knee issue. He posted multiple hits in seven of the 11 games prior to the injury. The first baseman has been solid this year, slashing .299/.364/.483 with three homers, 12 RBI, 15 runs scored and seven doubles over 99 plate appearances, though he has yet to attempt to steal a base. • Gets left knee checked out
Sano went to have his sore left knee examined Saturday afternoon, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: Sano was in the starting lineup Friday after battling soreness in the knee for several days, but his knee "flared up again" after two at-bats, per manager Ron Washington. The Angels have not provided an update as of Saturday evening, and it's especially concerning given that Sano's left knee is what cost him the better part of the last two seasons. Sano got off to a decent start with the Angels and went yard last weekend for his first MLB homer in over two years, but his status is up in the air at the moment. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:38 pm

  • Plates two, steals base
Goldschmidt went 2-for-5 with two RBI while netting his first stolen base of the season in Saturday's 7-4 victory over the Mets.

Advice: Goldschmidt one-hopped a two-run double off the wall as part of a four-run first inning for the Cardinals. He also added an infield single, a stolen base and another run scored. The former MVP did also strike out three times Saturday and has fanned at an elevated 30.1 percent. The production on the whole has ticked up over the past week, though, with Goldschmidt going 9-for-27 (.333) with one home run and four RBI. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:04 pm
  • Paul Goldschmidt drives in two in win over Mets
Paul Goldschmidt went 2-for-5 with a double, two runs scored, two RBI, and a stolen base to lead the Cardinals to a 7-4 win over the Mets.

Advice: Goldschmidt seems to be warming up at the plate. He collected two hits on Saturday for his third multi-hit game in his last five contests. Goldschmidt drove in two runs with a double in the first inning and scored on a base hit by Masyn Winn. He singled in the fifth and swiped second for his first stolen base of the season before scoring on a balk. The 36-year-old first baseman is slashing .214/.306/.296 with two homers and 11 RBI across 113 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:37 pm

Advice: Alonso cut the Cardinals lead to two runs with a two-run blast off Sonny Gray in the fifth inning. It was the eighth homer of the season for the 29-year-old slugger. He’s slashing .252/325/.515 with 14 RBI across 114 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:36 pm

  • Red Sox move Triston Casas to 60-day IL
Red Sox transferred 1B Triston Casas to the 60-day injured list.

Advice: The team needed to free up a spot on their 40-man roster for the addition of Garrett Cooper, and Casas made logical sense after it was reported that he’s dealing with torn cartilage in his ribs and could be sidelined for up to nine weeks. He won’t be eligible to return until the end of June. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:09 pm

  • Moves to 60-day IL
The Red Sox transferred Casas (ribs) to the 60-day injured list Saturday, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Advice: Casas was diagnosed with a cartilage tear in his left ribcage Friday, and it will officially cost him at least two months as he moves to the 60-day IL. The 24-year-old first baseman was optimistic Friday about returning to the lineup before the end of the season, but there is no telling when that might be, given the wide range of recovery timelines that come with his sort of injury. His roster spot will be given to Garrett Cooper, who was acquired from the Cubs on Saturday in exchange for cash and figures to take over as Boston's primary first baseman while Casas is out. • Ryan Mountcastle blasts solo homer on Saturday
Ryan Mountcastle went 1-for-4 with a solo homer against the A’s on Saturday.

Advice: Mountcastle’s only hit of the day left the yard, going back-to-back with Adley Rutschman for a solo homer in the fifth inning off JP Sears. It was the second home run of the season for the 27-year-old first baseman to go with a .299/.364/.483 slash line and 12 RBI across 99 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:28 pm
