    • Back-to-back blown saves
Beeks allowed a run on two hits and struck out one over two-thirds of an inning to take a blown save versus the Athletics on Thursday.

Advice: Beeks gave up a game-tying solo home run to Daz Cameron in the ninth inning. This was Beeks' second straight blown save, and it appears his high-wire act of allowing multiple baserunners in five straight contests is starting to come back to haunt him. On the year, Beeks has a 2.74 ERA, but a 1.35 WHIP and a 17:12 K:BB through 23 innings suggest he's been lucky to attain that level of run prevention. He's held the closer job for the Rockies for much of May, but that could come to an end if he doesn't right the ship quickly. Rotowire.com 3 minutes ago

    • Ineffective in first relief outing
Hendricks allowed two runs on four hits across two innings of relief in Thursday's 3-0 loss to Atlanta. He walked one and struck out one.

Advice: After allowing eight runs (seven earned) across 4.2 innings in his last start to push his ERA up to 10.57, Hendricks got bumped to the bullpen. The veteran made his first relief appearance of the season Thursday, and while he actually lowered his ERA to 10.47, it wasn't a particularly inspiring effort. Hendricks has never been a big strikeout pitcher, relying instead on sharp control to fuel his success, but he's fallen off in a big way so far this year. The righty has limited fantasy appeal in his current role. Rotowire.com 4 minutes ago
    • Good start goes to waste
Feltner allowed four hits and two walks while striking out six over six scoreless innings in a no-decision versus the Athletics on Thursday.

Advice: This was arguably Feltner's best start of the campaign, but it was all for nothing when six Rockies relievers all gave up at least one run. The Athletics rallied to erase three deficits before ultimately winning in the 11th inning. Feltner's winless skid is at seven games, and he remains 1-4 on the year with a 5.07 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 48:16 K:BB through 55 innings over 10 starts. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Guardians. Rotowire.com 6 minutes ago

    • Three hits in Thursday's win
Brown went 3-for-6 with a double, a stolen base and three runs scored in Thursday's 10-9 extra-innings win over the Rockies.

Advice: Brown didn't get much of a chance to drive in runs Thursday -- the first three batters in the Athletics' order went a combined 2-for-16 with two walks. Brown made up for it by hitting well and serving as the spark to get the Oakland offense going. He also scored the winning run in a frantic 11th-inning comeback. The outfielder's three-hit effort marked his fifth straight game with at least one hit, a stretch that's raised his slash line to .206/.254/.357 for the year. He's added five home runs, three steals, 13 RBI and 10 runs scored over 134 plate appearances. Brown has often found a spot in the lineup versus right-handed pitchers, but there will be a bit more pressure for him to perform with Daz Cameron called up Thursday to add to the Athletics' outfield depth. • Logs three hits, steal in win
Schuemann went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Thursday's 10-9 extra-innings win over the Rockies.

Advice: Facing a four-run deficit in the bottom of the 11th inning, Schuemann sparked the Athletics' rally with an RBI double before scoring on Abraham Toro's single. Through 19 games in May, Schuemann is batting .317 (19-for-60) with five extra-base hits and six RBI. The 26-year-old is up to a .262/.344/.381 slash line with two home runs, three steals, nine RBI and 11 runs scored over 96 plate appearances. Schuemann should continue to start at shortstop, filling in for Darell Hernaiz (ankle), who is on the 60-day injured list and not eligible to return until July. Rotowire.com 27 minutes ago

    • Gets aboard five times
McCann went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two walks and one run scored in Thursday's 10-9 extra-innings win over the Rockies.

Advice: McCann had gone just 3-for-18 over his previous eight contests before a breakout game Thursday. The backup catcher has generally played well in 2024, posting a .340/.431/.580 slash line over 58 plate appearances. He's added three home runs, three doubles, eight RBI and nine runs scored, but the 26-year-old remains firmly behind Shea Langeliers on the depth chart. Rotowire.com 31 minutes ago

    • Goes seven innings
Estes allowed four runs on seven hits while striking out six and walking none over seven innings in a no-decision versus the Rockies on Thursday.

Advice: Estes was much better Thursday than in his previous start, landing 73 of his 93 pitches for strikes. That efficiency gave him his longest outing of the season, though it was far from a strong showing. The Rockies got to him for two runs in each of the first and sixth innings, but the Athletics' comeback got him off the hook for the loss. Estes is at a 7.47 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 15:4 K:BB over 15.2 innings over three starts this season. He's projected to make his next start on the road versus the Rays. Rotowire.com 39 minutes ago

    • Fares well in start
Brown allowed one hit and two walks while striking out six over four scoreless innings in a no-decision versus Atlanta on Thursday.

Advice: Brown did a fine job, throwing 42 of 66 pitches for strikes while working on three days' rest. He's started five of his 12 appearances this season and now has a 3.20 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 45:15 K:BB over 39.1 innings. Kyle Hendricks' struggles opened up this chance for Brown to start, but he could find himself back in the bullpen once Jordan Wicks (forearm) is cleared to return. In any case, Brown appears to be near the top of the list for the Cubs whenever they have an opening in the rotation to fill. Rotowire.com 56 minutes ago

    • Perez knocks in Tigers lone run Thursday
Wenceel Perez went 1-for-4 with an RBI against the Blue Jays on Thursday.

Advice: To say it was a quiet night for the Tigers offense would be an understatement. Detroit failed to record an extra-base hit on the night. Perez singled in the sixth inning to drive in Javier Baez and Carson Kelly was thrown out at home by Kevin Kiermaier on the same play. Perez has been the lone bright spot in the Tigers order recently. He’s hitting .295 with an .859 OPS and 14 RBI since his April call to the majors. Rotoworld Today, 6:34 pm
