• Handed loss Wednesday
Curry (0-2) allowed two runs on three hits and struck out one without walking a batter over three innings, taking the loss Wednesday versus the Orioles.

Advice: This was Curry's first appearance since he was recalled from Triple-A Columbus on Monday. He spared the Guardians' bullpen in Wednesday's contest, but solo home runs by Cedric Mullins and Ryan O'Hearn were enough to stick Curry with the loss. The right-hander has struggled in limited major-league action this year with a 5.74 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 9:3 K:BB over 15.2 innings across four appearances (three starts). Given his poor results, Curry could be optioned out again whenever Cleveland needs a fresh arm. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 11:34 pm

  • Set to start Thursday
Daniel will be recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake to start Thursday's game against the Tigers, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: Other than a one-day stay with the Halos in mid-May in which he didn't make an appearance, Daniel has spent the entire season at Salt Lake, posting an ugly 5.33 ERA but a more promising 82:25 K:BB across 76 innings covering 14 starts. The 27-year-old right-hander appeared in three games out of the Angels bullpen in 2023, allowing three runs with a 9:9 K:BB over 12.1 frames. With Patrick Sandoval (elbow) out for the season and Jose Soriano (abdomen) still on the injured list, Daniel could get a chance to take multiple turns through the rotation. • David Daniel to start Thursday for Angels
Davis Daniel was scratched from his Triple-A start and will pitch for the angels on Thursday.

Advice: The Angels are down bad in the rotation at the moment, so the 27-year-old Daniel will slot in tomorrow. The right-hander has a 5.33 ERA in 14 starts for Salt Lake, but that’s largely the product of a .378 BABIP. He’s struck out 82, walked 25 and allowed just five homers in 76 innings. • Alex Faedo (hip) begins rehab assignment
Alex Faedo retired two of the three batters he faced in his first rehab appearance for Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday.

Advice: Faedo has been out for three weeks with hip inflammation. He should return to the Tigers pen in the near future. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:43 am

  • Third rehab outing coming
Faedo (hip) is scheduled to make his third rehab appearance for Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Advice: After tossing a scoreless inning in his first minor-league appearance, Faedo surrendered four hits, two walks and a run across 1.1 innings Saturday. He's been on the injured list since June 5 but is expected to rejoin the major-league roster soon. In fact, Tuesday's outing could be his last at Toledo. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 1:06 pm

  • Sent back to Triple-A
The Guardians optioned McCaughan to Triple-A Columbus on Monday.

Advice: McCaughan was knocked around for two runs on four hits and two walks over two relief innings in Sunday's 6-5 win over the Blue Jays in his lone appearance with the Guardians following his call-up from Triple-A last Wednesday. He's being sent back to the minors in favor of a fresh bullpen arm. Rotowire.com Monday, 1:58 pm
  • Joins big-league bullpen
The Guardians recalled Curry from Triple-A Columbus on Monday.

Advice: Curry will provide Cleveland's bullpen with some length. The right-hander holds a 5.68 ERA and 8:3 K:BB over 12.2 frames covering three starts for the Guardians this season. Rotowire.com Monday, 1:56 pm

  • Guardians recall RHP Xzavion Curry from Triple-A
Guardians recalled RHP Xzavion Curry from Triple-A Columbus.

Advice: Curry had a 4.19 ERA in four starts since being sent down. Unless there’s something they haven’t revealed, the Guardians aren’t going to need Curry as a starter right now. Instead, it looks like he’ll return to the middle relief role he generally did good work in last year. Rotoworld Monday, 1:48 pm

  • Guardians send Darren McCaughan back to Triple-A
