• Nolan Schanuel hits three-run homer in Angels’ win
Nolan Schanuel went 2-for-5 and hit a three-run homer Monday as the Angels outlasted the Astros 9-7.

Advice: Schanuel’s exit velocity numbers aren’t the least bit impressive, but he’s having enough success pulling flyballs that he’s now hit five homers, even though his longest drive of the year is 381 feet. We still wouldn’t want to roster him in mixed leagues at the moment, but it bodes well for the future. Rotoworld Today, 8:24 pm

  • Josh Bell delievers walk-off hit against Brewers
Josh Bell went 2-for-4 with a game-winning RBI single on Monday, leading the Marlins to a 3-2 walk-off victory over the Brewers in a 10-inning marathon.

Advice: Bell sent the Marlins faithful home in winning fashion with a sharp ground-ball single to right field in the 10th inning after Miami rallied in the previous frame to send the contest to extra innings. The switch-hitting 31-year-old slugger is batting .235/.320/.372 with 21 runs scored, six homers and 25 RBI across 207 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 7:05 pm

  • Hitting in batting cage
Drury (hamstring) will hit in the batting cage Monday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: Drury is ready to begin reincorporating baseball activities as he works his way back from a left hamstring strain. Running will certainly be a bigger test than hitting, though, and it's not clear when he might be ready to do that. Rotowire.com Today, 1:52 pm

  • Will be primary third baseman
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Monday that LeMahieu (foot) will be the team's primary third baseman when he returns, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Advice: LeMahieu will be eased into everyday duty, though, after missing so much time with a right foot injury. The veteran infielder is a couple games into the resumption of his rehab assignment and isn't expected to be activated for at least another week or so. Once LeMahieu returns, Oswaldo Cabrera and Jon Berti will fill utility roles. Rotowire.com Today, 1:30 pm

  • Cardinals designate Rivas for assignment
Cardinals designated 1B Alfonso Rivas III for assignment.

Advice: Rivas, who was claimed off waivers from the Angels in January, is now off the 40-man roster. He’d spent the entire season with Triple-A Memphis, hitting .246/.364/.323 with no homers in 156 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 1:14 pm

  • Not in Monday's lineup
Cooper is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rays, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Advice: Cooper has an .860 OPS over his past nine contests but will head to the bench Monday for the second time in Boston's last three games. Connor Wong will rest his legs as the designated hitter while Reese McGuire receives a start behind the plate. Rotowire.com Today, 1:13 pm
  • Exits 40-man roster
Rivas was designated for assignment by the Cardinals on Monday.

Advice: The transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of Ryan Loutos. Rivas, 27, has slashed just .246/.364/.323 with zero home runs this season at Memphis. Rotowire.com Today, 12:15 pm

  • Reaches four times in rehab game
LeMahieu (foot) went 1-for-1 with three walks, two runs and an RBI while playing five innings at third base in Sunday's rehab appearance with Double-A Somerset.

Advice: LeMahieu had plenty of opportunities to put his right foot -- which he broke on a foul ball March 16 -- to the test Sunday given his time in the field and on the basepaths. The veteran infielder is three games into his rehab assignment and has gone 2-for-7 with three walks, two runs and an RBI thus far. Per the Associated Press, LeMahieu is slated to play back-to-back minor-league games Tuesday and Wednesday this week before playing in three consecutive contests over the weekend. He could be activated from the injured list soon thereafter. Rotowire.com Today, 12:09 pm

  • Productive across weekend series
Singleton went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a walk Sunday against the Brewers.

Advice: Singleton enjoyed a productive weekend series against the Brewers, collecting five hits across 12 at-bats while scoring a run and driving in two. He's started 18 of the last 19 games since the demotion of Jose Abreu and has hit .230 with a .342 OBP to go along with four homers, 12 RBI and 13 runs scored. Abreu could rejoin the team within the week, but Singleton has made the case to maintain playing time with his production across May. Rotowire.com Today, 7:29 am
