  • Siani hits first home run Monday
    Michael Siani went 2-for-4 with a steal and a three-run home run and four RBI against the Orioles on Monday.

    Advice: Siani started the scoring with an RBI single off Dean Kremer in the second inning and also delivered the knockout blow in the fourth inning with a three-run homer off Kremer. The home run was his first of the year and the steal was his fifth. Siani is hitting .238 with just a .612 OPS this year. Rotoworld Today, 7:52 pm
     
  • Goes deep in loss
    Carpenter went 2-for-3 with a double, a solo home run, an additional run scored and two total RBI in Monday's 8-3 loss to the Royals.

    Advice: Carpenter continued a strong month of May, as he's batting .325 this month with three home runs, nine runs scored and 10 RBI across 14 games. He's now up to six long balls overall to go along with a solid .893 OPS.   • Carpenter leaves the yard Monday
    Kerry Carpenter went 2-for-3 with a double, a solo home run, a sacrifice, two runs scored and two RBI against the Royals on Monday.



    Advice: The home run was Carpenter’s sixth of the season. He’s hitting .285 with an .893 OPS with the majority of his at-bats coming against right-handed pitching. It can certainly be frustrating for fantasy managers when Carpenter is on the bench against left-handed starts or gets pinch-hit for late in games. He was 16-for-68 (.235) against left-handed pitchers in 2023, though, so it’s hard to argue the logic even on nights when it’s readily apparent that Carpenter is the Tigers’ best offensive weapon.

  • Canzone leaves the yard Monday
    Dominic Canzone went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two RBI against the Yankees on Monday.



    Advice: Canzone drew the start in right field as Mitch Haniger was the designated hitter and Mitch Garver got the night off. He provided all of the offense for the Mariners through eight innings on Monday with a solo home run off Marcus Stroman. It was Canzone’s fourth home run of the season. His playing time going forward depends on Garver’s availability.

  • Jacob Young plates two, steals base in victory
    Jacob Young went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI and also stole a base on Monday in the Nationals’ lopsided win over the Twins.

    Advice: Young has come out of nowhere to make an impact for fantasy managers in deeper mixed leagues with an astounding 15 stolen bases in just 129 plate appearances over 37 contests. The 24-year-old speedster doesn’t offer any over-the-fence pop, but the steals are enough to give him some relevance moving forward. Rotoworld Today, 6:46 pm

  • Sent to Triple-A
    Mastrobuoni was optioned to Triple-A Iowa on Monday, per MLB's transaction log.

    Advice: Mastrobuoni went 0-for-10 at the dish over his last three games, and he'll be demoted to the minors now that Dansby Swanson (knee) is ready to be activated from the 10-day IL and Luiz Vasquez is ready to get a shot with the big-league club.     Crow-Armstrong was optioned to Triple-A Iowa on Monday.

    Advice: Crow-Armstrong will return to Iowa after joining the major-league roster in late April, batting .236 with one home run, nine RBI, four runs scored and five stolen bases over 55 at-bats in 23 contests.   • Cubs demote Pete Crow-Armstrong to Triple-A
    Cubs optioned OF Pete Crow-Armstrong to Triple-A Iowa.

    Advice: It’s nothing Crow-Armstrong did wrong, but the Cubs don’t want a 22-year-old top prospect sitting on the bench as often as Crow-Armstrong was going to now that Cody Bellinger and Seiya Suzuki are healthy.
