    • Pham has three-hit game Thursday
Tommy Pham went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, two runs scored and an RBI against the Orioles on Thursday.

Advice: Pham continues to produce out of the leadoff spot for Chicago. His average is up to .333 on the season. He’s been one of the best pickups of the season considering he started the year without a team.

    • Goes seven innings
Estes allowed four runs on seven hits while striking out six and walking none over seven innings in a no-decision versus the Rockies on Thursday.

Advice: Estes was much better Thursday than in his previous start, landing 73 of his 93 pitches for strikes. That efficiency gave him his longest outing of the season, though it was far from a strong showing. The Rockies got to him for two runs in each of the first and sixth innings, but the Athletics' comeback got him off the hook for the loss. Estes is at a 7.47 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 15:4 K:BB over 15.2 innings over three starts this season. He's projected to make his next start on the road versus the Rays. • Collects 14th save
Suarez walked one and struck out one in a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the save in Thursday's 6-4 extra-inning win over the Reds.

Advice: Suarez had no trouble locking down the save in the 10th inning after the Padres pulled ahead. The right-hander has still allowed just one run all season, and that was March 28 versus the Giants. His scoreless streak is at 20 innings, and he has a 0.40 ERA, 0.67 WHIP and 21:5 K:BB over 22.1 innings with 14 saves and one hold on the year as one of baseball's top closers. • Estes allows four runs in no-decision
Joey Estes allowed four runs in seven innings, struck out six and got a no-decision against the Rockies on Thursday.

Advice: Seven innings marked the longest start of Estes’ young major league career. The six strikeouts were also a career-high for him. He’s still not usable in fantasy, but it was something for him to build on. The 22-year-old right-hander is set to face the Rays on the road next week.

    • To resume throwing
Wells (elbow) plans to resume throwing this week in Sarasota, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Advice: This would be the first time Wells would play catch since May 1, which was right before he was sent for additional testing. The right-hander was placed on the injured list April 13 due to right elbow inflammation. His last outing was April 12 when he allowed four runs through four innings against Milwaukee. • Tyler Wells (elbow) set to resume throwing
Tyler Wells (elbow) has been cleared to resume throwing.

Advice: Wells hit the injured list back in mid-April with right elbow inflammation and has finally been cleared to kick off a throwing program. The 29-year-old righty is still several weeks, if not longer, away from being an option for Baltimore’s starting rotation mix, which took a hit earlier this week with John Means suffering a forearm strain. • Goes seven innings in win
Wheeler (6-3) earned the win Thursday over the Rangers, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out five.

Advice: After Adolis Garcia led off the second inning with a home run, Wheeler held the Rangers off the board until Ezequiel Duran's two-out RBI single in the seventh. It's the sixth win in Wheeler's last seven starts -- he's pitched at least seven innings in back-to-back outings and three of his last four. His ERA sits at 2.53 on the season with a 0.98 WHIP and 76:21 K:BB in 67.2 innings. Wheeler's currently lined up for a road matchup with the Giants in his next start. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:57 pm
    • Rebounds for 14th save
Holmes earned the save in Thursday's 5-0 win over Seattle, allowing two hits while striking out a pair in 1.1 innings.

Advice: Holmes came on in relief in the eighth after Nick Burdi loaded the bases. He'd induce a grounder off the bat of Luke Raley for the final out before working around a pair of singles in the ninth to earn his 14th save. It's a nice bounce-back effort from Holmes, after he allowed four runs in a blown save against Seattle on Monday, the first four runs he's allowed this season. Overall, the 31-year-old right-hander sports a 1.64 ERA with a 1.23 WHIP and 25:6 K:BB across 22 innings this year. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:46 pm
    • Robert Suarez nails down 14th save against Reds
Robert Suarez fired a scoreless 10th to pick up a save against the Reds on Thursday.

Advice: That’s already the 14th save of the season for Suarez; putting him at right around a 40-save pace at this stage of the season. The right-hander hasn’t just helped in that category, as the scoreless 10th puts his ERA at a sparkling 0.40 for the 2024 campaign. There were question marks about Suarez being a stopper for the Padres coming into the season. Over the first 50-plus games, that question has been answered rather emphatically.
