    • Robert Suarez secures one-out save on Saturday
Robert Suarez picked up his 19th save of the season on Saturday, recording the final out against the Brewers.

Advice: It didn’t seem like Suarez would be needed in this one after the Padres entered the ninth inning leading 6-0, but after Brice Turang slugged a two-out grand slam that made things a bit tighter, the 33-year-old right-hander was summoned to close it out. It took him just three pitches to get William Contreras to bounce out to third base to end it. On the season, he has now converted 19 of his first 20 save chances while registering a 1.16 ERA and a 29/6 K/BB ratio over 31 innings of work. Rotoworld 58 minutes ago
    • Wheeler goes seven, strikes out eight in win
Zack Wheeler allowed one run in seven innings and got the win in the Phillies’ 12-1 victory over the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

Advice: Wheeler gave up two hits, walked none and struck out eight. The win was his ninth on the year. It was a big time bounce back from Wheeler, who had allowed eight runs to the Orioles in his last start. He looked like his normal self while dominating the Diamondbacks on Saturday. Wheeler’s ERA is now 2.73 on the season. The 34-year-old right-hander is set to face the Marlins at home next weekend.

    • Yordan Alvarez homers as Astros top Orioles
Yordan Alvarez hit a two-run homer to help the Astros defeat the Orioles on Saturday.

Advice: Alvarez hit his 16th homer of the season when he connected on an offering from Corbin Burnes. The pair of RBI gives the 26-year-old slugger 41 on the season. Alvarez remains one of the best power threats in baseball and that’s not going to change any time soon. Rotoworld Today, 3:31 pm
    • Gleyber Torres returns to lineup on Saturday
Gleyber Torres (groin) is back in the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Braves.

Advice: Torres sat out Friday’s series opener following an early exit from Thursday’s game due to right groin tightness. It’s a positive sign that he’s back in the lineup and it confirms the belief from Yankees manager Aaron Boone that Torres wasn’t dealing with anything major. Rotoworld Today, 12:01 pm

    • Back in lineup Saturday
Torres (groin) is starting at second base and batting seventh for Saturday's game against Atlanta.

Advice: Torres left in the sixth inning of Thursday's game against the Orioles due to tightness in his right groin. He was held out of Friday's game as a precaution and is back in the lineup Saturday. For the month of June, Torres is slashing .194/.268/.387 with three home runs and 12 RBI over 62 at-bats. • Season-high 10 Ks in win
Abbott (6-6) picked up the win Friday, allowing two runs on four hits and a walk over 5.2 innings in a 5-2 victory over the Red Sox. He struck out 10.

Advice: The 10 Ks were a season high for Abbott and marked the third time in 36 career big-league starts he's reached double digits. The 25-year-old lefty hasn't had consistent swing-and-miss stuff this year -- he hasn't fanned more than six batters in an outing since May 4 -- and continues to have trouble keeping the ball in the park, as both runs against him Friday came on solo shots, but he's been making it all work so far in 2024. Abbott will take a 3.40 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 70:26 K:BB through 84.2 innings into his next start, which is scheduled to come at home next week against the Pirates. Rotowire.com Today, 6:52 am
    • Homers in loss
Wong went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 5-2 loss to Cincinnati.

Advice: Wong belted a solo home run in the second inning, his sixth of the season, and extended a hitting streak to 11 games (15-for-39). He's batting .335/.397/.471 for the season. There's no dramatic changes in his contact metrics to explain his breakout, and the BABIP (.395) warning signs are still there, but Wong has managed to avoid regression so far. • Homers in return to lineup
Jones went 2-for-4 with a solo home run Friday against the Nationals.

Advice: Jones was out of the starting nine for two games with an illness, but he returned to the lineup and hit sixth Friday. He tallied his second home run of the season and has seven hits across 18 at-bats with only three strikeouts since being activated from the injured list June 14. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:48 pm

    • Andrew Abbott strikes out season-high 10 in win
Andrew Abbott fanned 10 while allowing two runs in 5 2/3 innings Friday in a win over the Red Sox.

Advice: The 10 strikeouts topped his previous season high by two. Abbott yielded homers to Connor Wong and Jarren Duran, but no further damage was done. There still isn’t much at all to like about Abbott’s peripherals, but he has reduced his walk rate, and this is the right year to be a big flyball pitcher. He’s currently 6-6 with a 3.40 ERA, even though he’s given up 15 homers in 84 2/3 innings. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:41 pm
