    • Sitting again Wednesday
Wong is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: After making four consecutive starts behind the plate, Wong finds himself on the bench for the second game in a row. Wong still looks to be the Red Sox's No. 1 catcher, but manager Alex Cora may have wanted to reward backup Reese McGuire with another start after he drew two walks in Tuesday's 4-3 win. • Robert Suarez quiets Phillies to collect 18th save
Robert Suarez fired a perfect ninth inning on Wednesday against the Phillies to record his 18th save of the season.

Advice: Suarez got the call to protect a three-run margin in the ninth inning on Wednesday afternoon in Philadelphia and needed just 13 pitches (nine strikes) to end the contest. He struck out Brandon Marsh to open the frame and got Edmundo Sosa to line out before coaxing a game-ending ground out from David Dahl. The 33-year-old righty has converted 17 of 18 save opportunities this season and boasts a microscopic 1.21 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and 28/6 K/BB ratio across 29 2/3 innings (29 appearances). • Sean Murphy goes 4-for-4, homers twice in victory
Sean Murphy went 4-for-4 and hit a pair of two-run homers as the Braves bested the Tigers 7-0 on Wednesday.

Advice: A big game for a slumping hitter. Murphy, who missed most of April and May, hadn’t achieved even a two-hit game in his 15 previous starts this season. He had totaled one homer and four RBI in 56 plate appearances. His OPS jumped from .408 to .625 today. Rotoworld Today, 12:31 pm

    • Breaks out with two homers
Murphy went 4-for-4 with a pair of two-run homers and three total runs scored in Wednesday's 7-0 win over the Tigers.

Advice: Murphy extended Atlanta's lead to 3-0 in the third inning with a two-run blast off Tarik Skubal before cranking a second two-run homer in the fifth off Mason Englert. It's the first multi-hit game of the year for Murphy, who was batting just .135 with a lone homer through his first 15 games this season. The 29-year-old backstop will hope Wednesday's outburst is a sign of things to come -- Murphy posted an .843 OPS with 21 homers across 438 plate appearances last year. • Shifts to 60-day IL
The Orioles transferred Wells (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Wednesday.

Advice: The move frees up a 40-man roster spot for Nick Maton, who had his contract selected from Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday. Wells is out of the season after undergoing an internal brace procedure on his right elbow this week. Rotowire.com Today, 10:21 am

    • Orioles shift Tyler Wells to 60-day injured list
Orioles transferred RHP Tyler Wells from the 15-day to the 60-day injured list.

Advice: Wells is out for the season and probably the first half of 2025 after having his UCL repaired earlier this week. Rotoworld Today, 10:08 am

    • Cruises to fourth win
Cortes (4-5) picked up the win in Tuesday's 4-2 victory over the Orioles, allowing five hits over six scoreless innings. He struck out six without walking a batter.

Advice: The crafty lefty was at his baffling best, and the only runner Baltimore got past second base against Cortes came on an Austin Wells passed ball in the sixth inning. Cortes threw a season-high 105 pitches (64 strikes) in the outing, his first time in triple digits since April 20, while the quality start was his second straight and seventh of the campaign. He'll take a 3.36 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 86:18 K:BB through 93.2 innings into his next start, which lines up to come at home this weekend against Atlanta. Rotowire.com Today, 7:13 am

    • Shifting rehab to Single-A
Votto (ankle) is scheduled to start at first base and bat second in a rehab game with Single-A Dunedin on Wednesday.

Advice: Votto will be move his rehab assignment one rung up on the minor-league ladder after he made a pair of starts in the rookie-level Florida Complex League on Saturday and Tuesday, going 0-for-4 with a walk between those contests. The veteran first baseman will likely stick around with Dunedin for at least a few contests to stockpile at-bats as he looks to regain form at the plate after being shut down since mid-March with a right ankle sprain. Votto currently resides on Triple-A Buffalo's 7-day injured list and will eventually rejoin the organization's top affiliate once the Blue Jays' brass is convinced he's ready for the assignment. • Hit hard in no-decision
Lynn came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 9-8 extra-inning loss to the Marlins, coughing up six runs (five earned) on 10 hits over 5.1 innings. He struck out five without walking a batter.

Advice: The veteran right-hander got taken deep by Jesus Sanchez and Christian Bethancourt, the first time Lynn had served up multiple homers in an outing since April 4. He managed to complete five innings Tuesday for the first time in June, and on the month he's stumbled to a 6.11 ERA, 1.70 WHIOP and 20:7 K:BB through 17,2 innings over four starts. Lynn will look to turn things around in his next trip to the mound, which lines up to come at home early next week against Atlanta. Rotowire.com Today, 6:26 am
