    • Battling bruised calf
Arrighetti was removed from Tuesday's game versus the Cardinals due to a left calf contusion, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Advice: Arrighetti took a 104-mph comebacker off his leg during the second inning of Tuesday's contest and was only able to get through the third frame before having to come out of the game. The 24-year-old righty doesn't appear to have suffered any serious damage, but the Astros will surely keep an eye on his calf as he gets closer to his next start -- tentatively scheduled for Monday against the Giants. • Ryan Pepiot has quality start in win
Ryan Pepiot allowed three runs on six hits in six innings in a win over the Marlins on Tuesday.

Advice: Pepiot struck out eight and walked none and now has 15 strikeouts over 11 2/3 innings over his last two starts. The 26-year-old earned 13 whiffs on his four-seam fastball and 17 whiffs overall on 52 swings for a 33 percent whiff rate and 29 percent CSW. His first season in Tampa Bay has been a success thanks in part to better fastball usage up in the zone. He’ll carry a 3.96 ERA into a tough start against the Orioles next week. • Spencer Arrighetti exits Tuesday with calf bruise
Spencer Arrighetti was removed from Tuesday’s start against the Cardinals with a left calf contusion.

Advice: Arrighetti managed to remain in the contest initially after being struck by a 103-mph line-drive in the early stages of the game, but was eventually forced to exit after allowing one run over three innings of work. The 24-year-old righty figures to be ready to make his next start on Monday against the Giants at Oracle Park, but that will depend on whether he’s able to resume throwing in the next couple days. • Spencer Arrighetti gets quick hook Tuesday vs. Cards
Spencer Arrighetti left Tuesday’s start against the Cardinals after allowing one run over three innings.

Advice: The hits keep on coming for Houston. On the heels of his strongest outing of the season, Arrighetti was lifted to open the fourth inning after throwing just 64 pitches a couple frames after being struck in the left leg by a 103-mph line-drive. There should be an update on the 24-year-old’s status soon. It’s possible his early exit was merely for precautionary reasons, but he’ll presumably undergo some additional testing to rule out anything serious. Rotoworld Today, 6:33 pm

    • Bobby Witt Jr homers twice in loss
Bobby Witt Jr. went 3-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI in a loss to the Guardians on Tuesday.

Advice: Witt smacked both long balls off of Triston McKenzie, hitting a 434-foot shot in the third inning and then a massive 454-foot bomb in the fourth inning. He now has 11 home runs on the year to go along with 46 RBI and a .319/.371/.565 slash line. With the injury to Ronald Acuna Jr. and the struggles of Julio Rodriguez, Bobby Witt Jr. is setting up to be the number-one pick in fantasy leagues next year. Rotoworld Today, 6:27 pm
    • Bobby Miller (shoulder) to start this week at AAA
Bobby Miller (shoulder) will make a minor league rehab start this week for Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Advice: Miller dealt with some diminished velocity last weekend in his second minor league rehab start for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga, but the Dodgers reportedly aren’t concerned. The 25-year-old righty is slated to pitch against some higher-level minor-league competition this week before the club re-evaluates whether he’s ready to return to the majors. • Albert Suárez to start Wednesday vs. Blue Jays
Albert Suárez will start on Wednesday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Suárez allowed one run over five innings last Friday against the division-rival Rays and will continue filling the void created by injuries to Kyle Bradish (elbow) and Dean Kremer (triceps). The 34-year-old is a tricky streaming option for fantasy managers given his lack of strikeout upside, but given Toronto’s persistent offensive struggles, he might be worthy of a gamble in deeper mixed leagues. • Kyle Tucker (shin) absent from Tuesday’s lineup
Kyle Tucker (shin) is absent from the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Cardinals.

Advice: The encouraging development here for fantasy managers is that X-rays came back negative for any fractures and Tucker hasn’t been placed on the injured list yet following an early exit from Monday’s series opener after fouling a ball off his right shin. It’ll be Mauricio Dubón taking over in right field on Tuesday evening in his absence. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for the moment. Rotoworld Today, 1:29 pm

    • Joey Ortiz leading off again Tuesday vs. Phillies
Joey Ortiz is leading off on Tuesday against the Phillies.

Advice: Ortiz has been bumped up to the top spot in Milwaukee’s lineup on several occasions over the last few weeks as his breakthrough campaign continues. The 25-year-old rookie infielder is batting .302 (29-for-96) with four homers and two steals over his last 30 games. Perhaps more impressive is the fact that he’s walked more times (16) than he’s struck out (15) during that span. Rotoworld Today, 1:26 pm
