    • Scoreless inning to earn win
Bednar (2-2) didn't allow a baserunner and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning to earn the win Saturday against the Rockies.

Advice: Bednar entered in the ninth inning of a scoreless game and held the Rockies in check. It was a needed outing, as he entered Saturday having given up runs in each of his last three appearances. Bednar has an ugly 10.50 ERA and 1.50 WHIP across 12 frames for the season, though there is no indication that he's in danger of losing the closer role. Rotowire.com Today, 7:13 am

    • Another strong rehab performance
Bradley (pectoral) allowed one earned run across six innings while striking out eight and walking two in a rehab outing with Triple-A Durham on Friday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Bradley made his second rehab start with Durham and ramped up to 94 total pitches. He's looked good in each outing and will be up with the Rays shortly. It's possible Bradley's next start will come with Tampa Bay, but it looks like a near certainty he'll be activated for his season debut by mid-May. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:27 pm

    • Racks up four hits Saturday
Lowe went 4-for-6 with a double, two runs and two RBI against the Royals in Saturday's 15-4 victory.

Advice: The Rangers pounded Kansas City pitching for 17 hits in the win, and Lowe was a big contributor from the No. 3 slot in the lineup with a season-high four base knocks. The first baseman began the campaign on the injured list due to a right oblique strain, but he's slid into Texas' offense comfortably since returning, reaching base safely via hit or walk in all but one of his 13 contests. Lowe is slashing .333/.418/.458 with a home run, nine runs, four RBI and a stolen base through 55 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:16 pm

    • Nathaniel Lowe posts four hits, two RBI in blowout
Nathaniel Lowe went 4-for-6 with a pair of RBI on Saturday, powering the Rangers to a lopsided 15-4 victory over the Royals.

Advice: Lowe exploded for a season-high four hits as the Rangers’ talented offensive core racked up a staggering 17 hits in this one. The 28-year-old first baseman kick-started an eventual blowout with a two-run single in the fourth inning off Royals starter Michael Wacha. The four-hit effort raises his batting average from .286 to .333 through 13 contests since missing the first few weeks of the season due to an oblique injury. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:50 pm

    • Tames Miami on Saturday
Blackburn (3-1) registered the win Saturday against the Marlins, yielding just one run on four hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out three.

Advice: Blackburn was perfect through the first three innings and then really got to put it on cruise control after the Athletics offense spotted him a 12-0 lead. A leadoff home run by Nick Fortes in the sixth inning represented the only scoring off Blackburn. It was a nice bounce-back performance from the veteran right-hander after he allowed 13 runs over his previous three outings. Blackburn is slated to take on the Mariners in Seattle next. • Ejected from Saturday's win
Judge went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI before being ejected for arguing balls and strikes in the seventh inning of Saturday's 5-3 win over the Tigers.

Advice: Home plate umpire Ryan Blakney was generous with strike calls on pitches off the plate all day, and Judge's muttering as he walked back to the dugout after getting rung up for a second time got him tossed. Per Joe Trezza of MLB.com, it was the first ejection of Judge's career -- at any level of baseball. He still made an impact in the win, and while the 32-year-old slugger has had a slow start to the season, he's produced three multi-hit performances, two homers and six RBI in his last eight games. • Fans seven in third win
Schmidt (3-1) picked up the win Saturday over the Tigers, giving up three runs on four hits over five innings. He struck out seven without walking a batter.

Advice: The right-hander tied his season high in strikeouts while generating 33 called or swinging strikes among his 91 pitches. Schmidt has been remarkably consistent to begin the season, allowing between one and three runs in every start and completing five innings in six of seven outings, although he has yet to last a full six frames. He'll take a 3.50 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 41:13 K:BB through 36 innings into his next start, which is scheduled to come next weekend in Tampa Bay. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:24 pm
    • Paul Blackburn tosses seven strong frames in win
Paul Blackburn tossed seven innings of one-run ball with three strikeouts in a win over the Marlins on Saturday.

Advice: Blackburn was excellent against Miami on Saturday, holding them to one run over seven frames. The only run against him was a solo homer by Nick Fortes in the sixth inning. Blackburn scattered three more hits and one walk, striking out three on his way to his third win. The 30-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 3.05 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, and a 31/10 K/BB ratio across 41 1/3 innings. He lines up for a start against the Mariners in Seattle on Friday. • David Bednar earns win with scoreless ninth
David Bednar tossed a scoreless inning with one strikeout to earn the win against the Rockies on Saturday.

Advice: Bender entered in the top of the ninth with the game scoreless. He tossed a clean frame, striking out one batter to send it tied to the bottom of the ninth. The Pirates would walk it off, giving Bednar the win. It a positive sign for the closer after giving up runs in each of his last three outings. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:31 pm
