    • Drives in two
Schuemann went 1-for-2 with an RBI double and a sacrifice fly Wednesday against the Angels.

Advice: Schuemann hadn't logged an RBI since June 1 and drove in multiple runs for just the third time all season. Still, his productive day could've been even better, but Kyle McCann was called out at home due to runner's interference on Schuemann's second-inning double, preventing an additional RBI. Operating as the Athletics' everyday shortstop, Schuemann is batting 14-for-69 (.203) with a 27.8 percent strikeout rate in June. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:04 pm

    • Homers, steals base in loss
Arias went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a stolen base against Baltimore in a loss Wednesday.

Advice: Arias accounted for two of Cleveland's five hits in the defeat and plated the team's final run with his fifth-inning solo homer. The utility man has perked up at the plate of late, batting an even .400 (10-for-25) with a pair of long balls and five RBI over his past nine games. Arias missed some time due to a family medical emergency during that span and isn't an everyday player for the Guardians, so the hot stretch extends back to the beginning of June. • Sitting Game 2
Arcia (head) is out of the lineup for Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Cardinals.

Advice: The 29-year-old exited Monday's contest due to dizziness and won't start eight game of Wednesday's twin bill. Luke Williams will start at shortstop in place of Arcia for the nightcap. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:14 pm

    • Heading back to bench Wednesday
Barger is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.

Advice: Barger will take a seat after he had started in eight of the Blue Jays' past 10 games, with five of those assignments coming at third base and the other three in the corner outfield. With Bo Bichette returning from the injured list Tuesday, Barger's opportunities to play in the infield will become more limited moving forward, but he could still push Davis Schneider or George Springer for the occasional start in left or right field. • Drives in two, steals base
Crawford went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI, a walk, and a stolen base in Wednesday's 5-2 win against Tampa Bay.

Advice: Crawford had an all-around showing Wednesday, reaching base three times and picking up his third stolen base of the season. The three steals are already more than he had all of last season. The 29-year-old extended his hitting streak to a season-best seven games. Since his return from the IL, he's started every game at the leadoff spot and is trending upward despite the .217/.315/.371 slash line. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:29 pm
    • Getting day off
Dubon is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies.

Advice: Dubon will get the afternoon off after he had started in each of Houston's last 15 games. Though he's served mostly as a utility player during that stretch, Dubon appears to have found a home of late at first base, where he made each of his last three starts. Jon Singleton will step in for Dubon on Wednesday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:44 am

    • Rangers demote Ezequiel Duran to Triple-A
Rangers optioned INF/OF Ezequiel Duran to Triple-A Round Rock.

Advice: We thought this might happen when Josh Jung came off the IL, but the Rangers declined to wait that long. Duran was hitting .256/.294/.324 in 187 plate appearances this season, and with Josh Smith thriving, he wasn’t going to play much following Jung’s return. A stint in Triple-A shouldn’t hurt. • Heading to Triple-A
The Rangers optioned Duran to Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesday.

Advice: Duran had a nice first full season with the Rangers in 2023, slashing .276/.324/.443 with 14 home runs and eight stolen bases. His follow-up in 2024 hasn't been as successful, as he sports just a .256/.294/.324 line with two home runs and one steal over 58 contests. Duran could still play a prominent role with the Rangers later this season, but for now he'll try to get back on track in a less-pressurized environment. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:12 am

    • Tim Anderson sits Wednesday against Royals
Tim Anderson is on the bench for the second time in four days Wednesday against the Royals.

Advice: The Marlins have treated Anderson as an everyday player throughout his struggles, but it looks like that might be changing now. Before being excluded from Sunday’s lineup, he had sat just three times this year, not including his IL stint and his three days of bereavement leave. Anderson actually heated up some a couple of weeks ago, but it was all singles; in 10 games from June 11-21, he hit an amazing .405/.405/.405. He’s since gone 0-for-11 to tumble back to .220/.244/.234 overall. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:06 am
