      Hader earned a save against the Yankees on Thursday, allowing one hit and striking out one batter over 1.1 scoreless innings.

      Advice: Hader was called upon with two outs and a runner on first with Houston protecting a one-run lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. He got Anthony Rizzo to pop out to end the frame, then completed the save with a scoreless ninth despite allowing a leadoff single. It was just the second time this season Hader was asked to get more than three outs, though he kept his workload relatively light by throwing 14 of his 18 pitches for strikes.       Corbin Carroll knocked in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning Thursday to help the D-Backs to a 5-4 win over the Reds.

      Advice: In what has been a very disappointing season for Carroll, the 23-year-old came up big Thursday with an RBI single to score Tucker Barnhart that broke a 4-4 tie and ultimately gave Arizona the victory. The 23-year-old was one of the best fantasy players regardless of age, and while his .206/.300/.270 slash is anything but ideal, there’s obvious reasons to believe he’ll bounce back considerably in the summer months.       Paul Goldschmidt is not in the lineup for Thursday’s showdown against the Brewers.

      Advice: Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol is giving Goldschmidt another night off as he attempt to break out of an early-season slump at the dish.       Sears (3-2) picked up the win in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Rangers, giving up four runs on seven hits and a walk over 5.2 innings. He struck out three.

      Advice: The southpaw wasn't particularly sharp, getting tagged for at least one run in three of the first four innings, but Sears stuck around long enough for the A's to take the lead for good while he was on the mound. He's lasted at least five innings in seven straight starts, but the results have been erratic.       Duran earned the save in a win over the Mariners on Wednesday, pitching a perfect ninth inning while striking out one.

      Advice: Duran entered the game with a 6-3 lead in the top of the ninth and needed nine pitches to record the first out. The right-handed reliever then managed to work his way back from a 3-0 count to retire Jorge Polanco on strikes for the final out of the game. It marked Duran's third save of the season, and he's now pitched a perfect inning in back-to-back appearances. He's also yet to walk a batter or allow a run across five innings.
