Winn (3-5) took the loss against Colorado on Thursday, allowing seven runs on eight hits and no walks while striking out one batter over 3.2 innings.

Advice: Winn actually carried a 1-0 lead into the bottom of the fourth inning, but things completely unraveled for him in that frame. The Rockies teed off on the right-hander for six straight hits -- including two doubles, a triple and a homer -- before he was able to record an out, with the damage resulting in six runs. Winn momentarily recovered to retire two batters before Charlie Blackmon ended his outing with another triple. After recording three straight quality starts and victories to end April, Winn has been blown up for 12 runs over 4.1 frames across his past two starts. Rotowire.com 12 minutes ago

    • Christian Yelich posts three hits, RBI in blowout
Christian Yelich went 3-for-4 with an RBI on Thursday, lifting the Brewers to a 7-1 blowout victory over the division-rival Cardinals.

Advice: Yelich shook off Wednesday’s tough 0-for-5 performance in his return from the injured list against the Royals with a stellar three-hit performance in his return to American Family Field. The 32-year-old corner outfielder padded Milwaukee’s lead with a run-scoring triple in the fifth inning as part of a three-hit effort that raised his full-season batting average to a sublime .333 (16-for-48) mark through 13 games. If he can avoid the back issues that have plagued him the last few years, he’ll remain an impact contributor for fantasy managers. Rotoworld Today, 8:26 pm

    • William Contreras raises average to .340 in win
William Contreras went 3-for-4 with an RBI on Thursday in the Brewers’ lopsided win over the Cardinals.

Advice: Contreras capped off a strong three-hit effort with a run-scoring single in the seventh inning that raised his full-season batting average to a remarkable .340 (50-for-147) mark through 37 games. The 26-year-old burgeoning fantasy star won’t sustain a .402 BABIP for much longer, but he’s proven that he’s going to be right around the .300 mark from a batting average standpoint thanks to his consistent hard contact and line-drive rate. The key to making the leap into an even greater offensive force will be whether he starts to put the ball in the air with increased frequency. Rotoworld Today, 8:24 pm
    • Erick Fedde hurls six scoreless to beat Guardians
Erick Fedde struck out three over six shutout innings on Thursday in a win over the Guardians.

Advice: Fedde scattered six hits over six strong frames and got more than enough run support from Chicago’s lineup to pick up his third win of the year. It was a nice bounce-back effort after walking five batters and allowing five runs his last time out against the Cardinals. He’ll bring a solid 3.00 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 44/14 K/BB ratio across 45 innings (eight starts) into a home outing on Tuesday against the Nationals. Rotoworld Today, 8:03 pm

    • Sidelined by illness
Rengifo (illness) was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday.

Advice: Rengifo has been held out of the lineup for five straight games with the illness, so his stint on the injured list will be retroactive to May 6. Kyren Paris was recalled from Double-A Rocket City in a corresponding move and should take over in a utility role while Rengifo is sidelined. Rotowire.com Today, 6:40 pm

    • Luis Rengifo (viral infection) lands on 10-day IL
Angels placed INF Luis Renfigo on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to May 6, with a viral infection.

Advice: Rengifo finally heads to the injured list following a five-game absence due to a viral infection. The 27-year-old infielder should be ready to return when first eligible to be activated later next week. Rotoworld Today, 6:28 pm

    • Keaton Winn can’t get out of fourth in loss
Keaton Winn gave up seven runs in 3 2/3 innings Thursday while picking up a loss to the Rockies.

Advice: Oof. Winn was fine over the first three innings. He was anything but in the fourth. The Rockies ended up picking up seven off the right-hander, and while he threw 39-of-51 pitches for strikes, he also only picked up one strikeout and didn’t fool the Colorado hitters — particularly in that fourth inning. That’s back-to-back clunkers for Winn, and his ERA has ballooned to 5.63 in the process. It’s really not a good idea to use him next week in a scheduled start against the Dodgers. • Ryan Jeffers blasts homer off Gilbert in victory
Ryan Jeffers hit a solo homer while driving in two runs in a blowout win Thursday over the Mariners.

Advice: Jeffers took Logan Gilbert deep in the second inning to extend Minnesota’s lead to 6-1. Jeffers also drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the eighth. The 26-year-old is up to a solid 29 RBI in the first 36 games of the year, and the homer along with a walk increase his OPS to 1.016. That’s outstanding. Rotoworld Today, 1:04 pm

    • Scoreless appearance in return
Lawrence allowed one hit and one walk across a scoreless inning Wednesday against the Giants.

Advice: Lawrence missed three games over the weekend while on the paternity list and made his first appearance since being activated. He entered the game with the Rockies down by four runs and managed to work out of a jam with runners at first and second base with one out. Since allowing six earned runs across his first 4.2 innings of the season, Lawrence has allowed only two runs in his last 8.1 frames and remains the leading candidate for saves in Colorado.
