    • Doomed by sixth inning
Perez allowed four earned runs on eight hits and no walks while striking out five across five innings Wednesday against the Angels. He did not factor into the decision.

Advice: Perez worked five effective innings, allowing only two earned runs. However, he allowed the first two hitters he faced in the sixth inning to reach base, who then came around to score after Luis Ortiz entered the game. Perez has faded in the sixth inning in consecutive starts, allowing five earned runs combined in the frame. Overall, he still has a positive 3.60 ERA, though that comes with a less impressive 1.40 WHIP and 36:13 K:BB. Rotowire.com Today, 6:12 am

    • Continues productive stretch
Judge went 3-for-5 with a home run, two doubles and three total RBI against Houston in a 9-4 win Wednesday.

Advice: Judge tagged Houston pitching for three extra-base hits, the first time he's accomplished that feat in a game this season. The slugger swatted a solo shot in the third inning and knocked in two more runs with a double in the sixth. Judge is coming on quickly after a slow start to the campaign -- he's in the midst of a five-game hitting streak during which he's gone 9-for-18 with two homers, four doubles, four walks, six RBI, six runs and a stolen base. • Allows one hit in seven frames
Cease (5-2) picked up the win Wednesday against the Cubs, allowing one hit and two walks over seven scoreless innings. He struck out 12.

Advice: Cease fell one K shy of his career high in strikeouts and allowed only four total baserunners -- an infield single, two walks and a hit-by-pitch -- en route to his fifth win of his last six starts. He's been making a case for the NL Cy Young in his first season with the Padres, earning a 2.19 ERA and a 0.75 WHIP with 60 strikeouts over 49.1 innings pitched. Cease will look to add to his already impressive 2024 resume in a projected home start Tuesday against the Rockies. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:57 pm

    • Suffers loss Wednesday
Lange (0-2) allowed an unearned run on one hit to take the loss in Wednesday's 5-4, 10-inning contest against the Guardians.

Advice: After recording the final out of the ninth inning, Lange had the unenviable task of pitching the bottom of the 10th in a tie game with a runner starting on second base. The righty retired the first batter but then allowed a walk-off hit to Brayan Rocchio. There shouldn't be too much read into the loss, and Lange has pitched well all season, as he's sitting with a stellar 0.64 ERA across 14 innings. Lange should continue to see high-leverage work for the Tigers moving forward, and he could slide back into the closer role at some point if he keeps up the strong play. • Nathaniel Lowe drives in three in win over A’s
Nathaniel Lowe went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs scored, and a pair of walks in the Rangers’ 12-11 win in the second game of a doubleheader against the Athletics on Wednesday.

Advice: Lowe drew a walk in the third inning and scored on a base hit by Jonah Heim. He brought two more runs in to score for Texas with a base hit in the fourth. Lowe reached again with a walk in the eighth and scored on a single by Josh Smith before adding a third RBI with a single in the ninth. The 28-year-old first baseman is slashing .328/.438/.448 with one homer, 12 runs scored, and 10 RBI across 80 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:19 pm

    • Aaron Judge homers in win on Wednesday
Aaron Judge went 3-for-5 with a home run, two doubles, and three RBI against the Astros on Wednesday.

Advice: Judge is heating up at the plate, collecting multiple hits in three of his last four games. He started with a homer off Spencer Arrighetti to lead off the third inning. He added a double in the fourth and brought two more runs in to score with a double in the sixth. The 32-year-old slugger is slashing .237/.367/.482 with eight homers and 24 RBI across 170 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:48 pm

    • Dylan Cease hurls 12-strikeout gem versus Cubs
Dylan Cease recorded a season-high 12 strikeouts over seven shutout innings on Wednesday in a win over the Cubs.

Advice: Cease was simply magnificent during Wednesday afternoon’s matinee at Wrigley Field, inducing a surreal 24 swinging strikes, including 12 on his slider alone, and finished with an elite 39 percent CSW. He limited Chicago’s formidable offense to just three baserunners, one hit and a pair of walks, over seven nearly-flawless frames. His 12 strikeouts were just one shy of his previous career-high mark set back on June 26, 2022. The 28-year-old fantasy ace has been outstanding in his San Diego debut, allowing two earned runs or fewer in seven of his eight starts. He’ll bring a stellar 2.19 ERA, 0.75 WHIP and 60/16 K/BB ratio across 49 1/3 innings (eight starts) into a tasty home matchup on Tuesday against the Rockies at Petco Park. • Falls to Toronto
Nola (4-2) took the loss Wednesday against the Blue Jays, allowing four runs on nine hits over 5.2 innings. He struck out seven.

Advice: Nola held Toronto to one run through his first five innings before starting to unravel in the sixth, allowing hits to three of the first four batters in the frame, and he was ultimately charged with three more runs. It's the first loss since for Nola since his first start of the year March 30. His ERA now sits at 3.72 with a 1.20 WHIP and 47:15 K:BB across eight outings (49 innings) this season. Nola will look to get back in the win column in his next start, currently slated for early next week against the Mets. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:11 pm
    • Aaron Nola tagged for four runs in defeat
Aaron Nola allowed four runs over 5 2/3 innings Wednesday in a loss versus the Blue Jays.

Advice: It was one run through five, but Nola gave up three singles and a double to produce three runs in the sixth, spoiling a nice day. Nola wound up with seven strikeouts and no walks. He’s totaled 37 strikeouts in his last five starts after recording just 10 in his first three outings. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:09 pm
