    • Nick Lodolo beats Guardians to earn seventh win
Nick Lodolo picked up his seventh victory of the season on Wednesday, limiting the Guardians to just two runs on seven hits over his six innings of work.

Advice: The 26-year-old southpaw struck out six batters on the evening while issuing three free passes. Lodolo walked David Fry with the bases loaded in the third inning to force in a run, then they scratched out a second run as Andres Gimenez bounced into a fielder’s choice in the fifth inning. Lodolo got 13 swings and misses on 102 pitches in the ballgame, registering a CSW of 23 percent. Now 7-2 on the season, he’ll look to keep the good times rolling as he brings a 2.93 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and a 62/15 K/BB ratio (58 1/3 innings) into Tuesday’s showdown against the Pirates in Pittsburgh. • Cade Povich goes six scoreless versus Braves
Cade Povich shut out the Braves for six innings and struck out six in his second big-league start Wednesday.

Advice: Povich wasn’t assured of a second major league start and still might not be assured of a third, but he definitely helped his case in a game in which he allowed no extra-base hits or walks. The problem is that Dean Kramer is due back next week, and he could slot into Povich’s spot. Rotoworld Wednesday, 6:38 pm
    • Woo! MRI on right-hander’s forearm returns clean
Mariners’ manager Scott Servais told reporters on Wednesday that the MRI on the forearm of injured right-hander Bryan Woo came back clean.

Advice: Too often in situations like these, a forearm strain leads to instability in the elbow, then the MRI reveals structural damage and another talented hurler heads for Tommy John surgery. It’s very refreshing to hear in this case that Woo won’t even require a trip to the injured list and could return to the Mariners’ rotation as early as next week. The 24-year-old hurler has been terrific this season, registering a 1.07 ERA, 0.54 WHIP and a 24/2 K/BB ratio over 33 2/3 innings in his first six starts. Rotoworld Wednesday, 4:14 pm

    • MRI comes back clean
Mariners general manager Justin Hollander said Wednesday that the MRI on Woo's arm "was perfectly clean," and the right-hander could be reinserted into the rotation as early as next week, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The 24-year-old was scratched ahead of his scheduled start Tuesday against the White Sox due to what the team labeled as a "right forearm issue," but he doesn't appear to be dealing with anything too serious. It's unclear when exactly Woo will make his next start, though it seems the Mariners will attempt to avoid putting him on the injured list. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 4:00 pm

    • Set to face hitters soon
Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said Wednesday that Senga (shoulder/triceps) will throw two more bullpen sessions before progressing to facing hitters, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

Advice: On Wednesday, Senga threw his second bullpen session since he was shut down with triceps tightness in late May. The session went well, and he will repeat the step two more times before being cleared to face hitters and eventually heading out on a minor-league rehab assignment. Senga has already been ruled out for the rest of the first half, but the righty remains optimistic he can be a contributor for the Mets after the All-Star break. • Falls out shy of quality start
Eflin allowed two runs on seven hits over 5.2 innings in a no-decision Tuesday against the Cubs. He struck out three.

Advice: Eflin was solid Tuesday, holding Chicago to one run on a Christopher Morel homer through his first five innings. However, he'd ultimately depart with two outs in the sixth before the Rays' bullpen would allow an inherited runner to score. Eflin has now allowed four runs in 9.2 innings over two starts since returning from a brief stay on the injured list. Overall, he's 3-4 with a 4.06 ERA,1.15 WHIP and 50:4 K:BB across 12 starts (68.2 innings). Eflin is currently scheduled to face Atlanta on the road in his next outing. • Goes 4.2 innings vs. Tigers
Parker allowed four unearned runs on four hits and three walks over 4.2 innings in a no-decision Tuesday against Detroit. He stuck out one.

Advice: Parker held the Tigers scoreless through his first four innings, though he'd ultimately allow four unearned runs in the fifth following his own error. While Parker wasn't at his best Tuesday, the rookie left-hander has still yet to allow more than three earned runs in 11 starts this season. His ERA is down to 3.21 with a 1.09 WHIP and 46:15 K:BB across 61.2 innings. Parker is currently in line to face the Marlins at home in his next outing. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 7:29 pm

    • Zach Eflin survives 5 2/3 innings in start
Zach Eflin allowed two runs on seven hits in 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Cubs on Tuesday.

Advice: Eflin struck out three and walked none and gave up just one extra-base hit on the day. It just happened to be a home run to Christopher Morel. Eflin got just six whiffs on 41 swings for a 15 percent whiff rate and 23 percent CSW on the afternoon. The Cubs didn’t square anything up, but it feels a bit like Eflin was lucky to get out of the game with just two runs allowed. He’ll take a 4.06 ERA into a tough showdown against the Braves this weekend. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:18 pm

    • Mitchell Parker allows four unearned runs vs. Tigers
Mitchell Parker was charged with four runs (zero earned) over five innings on Tuesday in a no-decision against the Tigers.

Advice: Parker allowed four runs for the first time in 11 starts to open his big-league career, but none of them wound up being earned as all of the damage came following his own fielding error with two outs in the fifth inning. He finished with one strikeout and also issued three walks. He’ll bring a respectable 3.21 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 46/15 K/BB ratio across 61 2/3 innings (11 starts) into a favorable home matchup on Sunday against the Marlins. Rotoworld Tuesday, 6:35 pm
