    • Injury believed to be minor
Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said Saturday that he's "not too concerned" about Nimmo's (intercostal) injury, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Advice: Nimmo tweaked his right intercostal on a checked swing Saturday against Atlanta and eventually exited the game. However, Mendoza said of the injury that "I think we caught it early," and there are no plans to send the outfielder for an MRI. Nimmo will be re-evaluated Sunday but is considered day-to-day for the time being. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:15 pm

    • Exits with intercostal irritation
Nimmo left Saturday's game against Atlanta with right intercostal irritation, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports.

Advice: Nimmo went 0-for-1 with a walk before exiting after the fourth inning. He suffered the injury on a checked swing and may undergo further tests after the game. Tyrone Taylor replaced Nimmo in left field. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:36 pm

    • Brandon Nimmo dealing with intercostal irritation
The Mets announced that Brandon Nimmo was pulled from Saturday’s ballgame against the Braves due to right intercostal irritation.

Advice: Nimmo sustained the injury on an uncomfortable looking swing. While a lot will depend on how he wakes up feeling on Sunday, there’s a decent chance that he’ll be heading to the injured list. Be sure to check back on his status prior to Sunday’s game. • Brandon Nimmo leaves game with apparent injury
Brandon Nimmo was removed from Saturday’s contest against the Braves due to an apparent injury.

Advice: Nimmo appeared to tweak something in his side on a check swing, then had a couple of very awkward swings afterwards before leaving the game. He’ll likely head for further evaluation. Expect the Mets to provide an update on his status shortly. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:24 pm

    • Collects first XBH
Friedl went 1-for-5 with a double and an RBI in Friday's 4-2 win over the Giants.

Advice: Friedl's fourth-inning double was his first extra-base hit since returning from a fractured wrist. It also produced the go-ahead run for Cincinnati, which snapped an eight-game losing streak. Friedl is 4-for-18 with one stolen base in four contests since his return. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:19 am
    • Picks up first RBI, steal in loss
Friedl went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and an RBI in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Friedl, playing his second game back from nearly two months on the injured list, drove in his first run of the season in the bottom of the ninth to make things interesting. He then stole his first base of the season, putting two runners in scoring position before Joe Mantiply escaped with the save for Arizona. Friedl, who batted leadoff Tuesday against a right-hander, slotted in at eighth in the order Wednesday against left-hander Jordan Montgomery. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:32 pm
    • Getting Wednesday off
Marte is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Marte had started each of the Mets' first seven games of May, going 6-for-30 (.200 average) with one extra-base hit (a double) and one stolen base. His absence Wednesday looks to be little more than a maintenance day as the Mets and Cardinals wrap up their series with a day game after a night game. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:14 am

    • Makes season debut
Friedl started in center field, batted leadoff and went 0-for-4 in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Friedl made his season debut Tuesday after opening the season on the injured list due to a wrist injury. He was unable to change the team's recent fortunes -- the Reds lost their sixth straight and have scored 10 runs during that stretch -- but that's a lot of pressure to put on any player returning from a wrist injury, which can be tricky. He'll return to his everyday role as Cincinnati's leadoff hitter and center fielder. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 4:26 am
    • Goes deep again
Nimmo went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer and a walk in Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Cardinals.

Advice: Nimmo got the Mets going with a three-run blast off Miles Mikolas in the fifth to knot the game up at 3-3. He's now homered in back-to-back games and has at least a hit in six straight with seven RBI over that span. For the year, the 31-year-old is hitting .229/.377/.412 with five homers, 25 RBI, 20 runs and a 25:32 BB:K in 162 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 3:35 am
