  • Jose Altuve doubles twice as Astros defeat Tigers
    Jose Altuve went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and a run scored on Friday evening, helping to lead the Astros past the Tigers.

    Advice: Altuve got a rally started with a leadoff double off of Tarik Skubal to begin the sixth inning. He then scored the game’s first run on Alex Bregman’s ensuing RBI triple. Altuve also drew a walk in the ballgame, reaching base safely in three of his four plate appearances.   • Returning to bench role
    Brujan is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets.

    Advice: Brujan closed the weekend with four straight starts in the infield, but the latter three came while both Tim Anderson and Otto Lopez were away from the team.     Altuve went 4-for-5 with a two-run homer, three RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's loss to the Angels.

    Advice: Altuve's big hit of the day came with two outs in the sixth to cap off a four-run rally that put the Astros ahead 7-4. It was his first time with four hits in a game since Sept. 4, 2023, and it was his eighth time this year with three or more hits in a game. Altuve is now tied for fourth in the majors with 80 hits on the year and is putting together another strong campaign at the dish.   • Jose Altuve belts 10th homer in loss on Sunday
    Jose Altuve went 4-for-5 and belted his 10th home run of the season on Sunday, but it wasn’t enough to lead the Astros past the Angels in Los Angeles.

    Advice: Altuve capped off a four-run rally in the sixth inning with his 406-foot (103.2 mph EV) two-run blast off of Hunter Strickland that extended the Astros’ lead to 7-4. That would be the extent of their scoring though. The 34-year-old second baseman also got the Astros on the board with a run-scoring single in the third inning then scored on an RBI knock by Jeremy Pena.     Altuve went 2-for-5 with one RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Angels.

    Advice: Altuve has been steady but not outstanding over his last 15 games, going 17-for-61 (.279) with two steals, four RBI and five runs scored in that span. He hasn't homered since May 20, taking a bit of the wind out of his sails after a strong start to the year in the power department.
