• Dominates for ninth win
Skubal (9-3) tossed seven scoreless innings to earn the win Tuesday against the Phillies. He allowed three hits and a walk, while striking out seven.

Advice: Skubal came into Tuesday in a bit of a slump, as he had allowed nine runs (eight earned) across 10.1 total innings in his previous two starts, which were both losses. The lefty got back on a track in a big way, however, with a dominant performance against a tough Philadelphia lineup. It was the sixth time this season that Skubal didn't allow any runs in an outing, which is a big reason why he's sitting with a 2.32 ERA, good for fourth in the majors. Detroit's ace is having an outstanding year, and he'll look to keep rolling in his next scheduled appearance, which is tentatively set for next Tuesday against the Twins. Rotowire.com 15 minutes ago

  • Tarik Skubal shuts down Phillies for seven frames
Tarik Skubal recorded seven strikeouts over seven scoreless innings on Tuesday in a win over the Phillies.

Advice: Skubal retired 13 of the final 14 batters he faced in a dominant performance at Comerica Park against a red-hot Phillies lineup. He generated an absurd 19 swinging strikes, including 11 on his changeup alone, and needed just 91 pitches (64 strikes) to navigate seven shutout frames. It was a much-needed rebound for the 27-year-old southpaw after allowing nine runs (eight earned) over his previous two starts against the Braves and Astros, respectively. He’ll carry a stellar 2.32 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 112/19 K/BB ratio across 97 innings (16 starts) into a road matchup on Tuesday against the Twins. Rotoworld Today, 5:50 pm

  • Limited to three innings versus TOR
McKenzie tossed three innings, allowing three runs on three hits and four walks while striking out six batters in Sunday's 6-5 win over the Blue Jays. He did not factor into the decision.

Advice: McKenzie was challenged early versus Toronto, giving up a two-run home run to Vladimir Guerrero in the top of the first inning. He later gave up a leadoff homer to Spencer Horwitz in the third, which was ultimately his final inning on the mound. McKenzie failed to pitch past the third inning for the second consecutive start Sunday, throwing just 41 of his 74 total pitches for strikes, while the four walks matched his total from his loss Tuesday versus Seattle. The 26-year-old will look to get back on track in his next start, which is tentatively set to come Friday on the road against the Royals. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:47 pm
  • Triston McKenzie strikes out six in three innings
Triston McKenzie allowed three runs in three innings on Sunday against the Blue Jays. He struck out six and walked four before a rain delay ended his start.

Advice: Rain or no rain, McKenzie had maybe one inning of work left in this one as efficiency continues to elude him. He hasn’t completed six innings since May 17th and hasn’t walked fewer than two batters in a start since May 1st. Rotoworld Sunday, 2:34 pm
  • Goes eight scoreless frames again
Gilbert (5-4) earned the win over Miami on Saturday, allowing four hits and one walk while striking out six batters over eight scoreless innings.

Advice: Gilbert's superb stat line was just a tad less impressive than in his previous outing, when he allowed two hits and struck out nine over eight scoreless frames against Texas. The right-hander has been on a roll throughout June -- he's tossed four quality starts in four outings this month while posting a 1.21 ERA over 29.2 innings. Perhaps most impressive is Gilbert's 28:1 K:BB over that span. Rotowire.com Saturday, 11:20 pm
  • Logan Gilbert hurls eight scoreless in victory
Logan Gilbert allowed four hits over eight scoreless in a 9-0 win for the Mariners on Saturday.

Advice: Gilbert issued just one walk while striking out six, and he needed just 92 pitches to get through the Miami lineup. The 27-year-old has not allowed a run over his last two outings, and he’s lowered his ERA to 2.71 thanks to those dominant results. The Mariners have arguably the best rotation in baseball, but Gilbert just might be the ace of that staff right now. He’s scheduled to face the Twins at home next weekend. Rotoworld Saturday, 3:36 pm
  • Fans eight Yankees for win No. 10
Sale (10-2) picked up the win Friday, allowing one run on one hit and three walks over five innings in an 8-1 victory over the Yankees. He struck out eight.

Advice: A Jahmai Jones triple in the second inning was the only knock on Sale's line as the veteran lefty fanned at least seven batters for the eighth time in nine starts since the beginning of May. Over that stretch, he's posted a 2.45 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 74:9 K:BB through 55 innings en route to becoming the third pitcher in the majors this season to reach double-digit wins, after the Phillies' Ranger Suarez and the Royals' Seth Lugo. Sale will look to keep rolling in his next outing, which lines up to come on the road next week in St. Louis. Rotowire.com Saturday, 6:23 am

  • Strikes out 10 in short start
Cease allowed four runs on six hits and two walks while striking out 10 over 4.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Brewers on Friday.

Advice: Cease has failed to complete five innings in three of his last seven starts. He labored in this one, throwing 68 of 106 pitches for strikes while posting double-digit strikeouts for the second time this year. The right-hander is at a 4.14 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 116:28 K:BB over 91.1 innings through 16 starts. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Nationals. • Clean inning for save
Miller struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Friday's 6-5 win over the Twins.

Advice: Shea Langeliers put the Athletics ahead in the eighth inning, and Miller was able to slam the door in the ninth. He hasn't been charged with a run over his last 4.2 innings while posting a 5:2 K:BB in that span. The closer is up to 14 saves with a 2.08 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and 60:13 K:BB over 34.2 innings this season. Rotowire.com Friday, 10:15 pm
