• Could return Tuesday
Diaz (right shoulder impingement) pitched a scoreless inning Sunday for High-A Brooklyn and could rejoin the Mets as soon as Tuesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Advice: A report from earlier in the week suggested Diaz could return Wednesday or Thursday, so this report bumps up his potential return by a day. Catcher Francisco Alvarez (left thumb surgery) is also tracking toward a potential return Tuesday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:15 pm

  • Allows one run in relief Saturday
Wicks (forearm) allowed one run on three hits across 3.1 innings of relief in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Reds. He walked one and struck out two.

Advice: Wicks was making his first appearance since April 23 after sustaining a forearm strain in his throwing arm. This was also the lefty's first relief outing of the season, as he was serving as the team's fifth starter before he got injured. Rookie Ben Brown has stepped into a starting role and looked pretty good, so it remains to be seen if Wicks will be able to rejoin the rotation at some point. His fantasy value would get a boost if that happens, but for now it appears that Brown will keep picking up starts. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:47 am
  • Throws on flat ground, bullpen next
Gallen (hamstring) threw a flat-ground session Saturday and is expected to throw a bullpen session soon, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports.

Advice: Gallen was cleared for throwing June 3 and was able to complete a flat-ground session Saturday. The next box for Gallen to check in his recovery from a right hamstring strain would be a bullpen session, which should occur in the coming days. Gallen will be eligible to return from the 15-day injured list June 15, though it's unclear if he'll be ready to join the big club by then. Rotowire.com Saturday, 5:18 pm

  • Zac Gallen (hamstring) throws off of flat ground
Zac Gallen (hamstring) threw off of flat ground without any issues on Saturday.

Advice: As long as he rebounds fine from that session, he’ll be cleared to throw a bullpen session. Gallen has been shelved since May 31 due to a Grade 1 right hamstring strain. It remains unclear if he’ll require a minor league rehab start or not before rejoining the Diamondbacks’ rotation. Rotoworld Saturday, 5:04 pm

  • David Bednar strikes out two in scoreless inning
David Bednar struck out two batters in a scoreless ninth inning against the Twins on Saturday.

Advice: The Pirates plated three runs in the bottom of the eighth to go up by four, putting a save situation out of reach for Bednar, who took over to close it out in the top of the ninth. He worked around a base hit, striking out two in a scoreless frame. The 29-year-old right-hander has been excellent after a slow start. He’s allowed just three runs over 17 1/3 innings since the start of May while converting eight of his 13 saves. Rotoworld Saturday, 4:00 pm
  • Notches 13th save
Bednar earned the save in Friday's 3-0 win over the Twins, allowing one hit while logging a strikeout in a scoreless ninth inning.

Advice: Bednar worked around a Byron Buxton one-out single to close out Pittsburgh's shutout victory, earning his 13th save this season. Bednar extended his scoreless streak to nine innings -- he's allowed just five hits and one walk in that span. Overall, the 29-year-old right-hander sports a 5.47 ERA with a 1.18 WHIP and 26:6 K:BB across 26.1 innings this season. Rotowire.com Saturday, 8:34 am
  • Michael King hurls five scoreless to beat D-backs
Michael King struck out five over five shutout innings on Friday in a win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: King received double-digit run support from San Diego’s offense and was able to cruise to a relatively easy win, scattering four hits and one walk over five spotless frames. The 29-year-old righty has been phenomenal of late, allowing three earned runs or fewer in six of his last seven starts since May 4. He’ll carry a sharp 3.58 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 83/32 K/BB ratio across 78 innings (14 appearances, 13 starts) into an extremely favorable matchup on Wednesday afternoon against the rebuilding Athletics. • Sharp in win
King (5-4) allowed four hits and one walk while striking out five over five scoreless innings to earn the win Friday over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: King wasn't all that efficient, needing 98 pitches (63 strikes) to get through five frames, but that's the only knock on his performance. He's been excellent over his last three starts, allowing just two runs on 11 hits and four walks with 16 strikeouts over his last 17 innings. King has a 3.58 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 83:32 K:BB through 78 innings across 14 appearances (13 starts). The right-hander will look to keep rolling in his next start, tentatively projected to come at home versus the Athletics. Rotowire.com Friday, 10:18 pm

  • Logan Webb limits Rangers to two runs in win
Logan Webb pitched the Giants past the Rangers with seven innings of two-run ball on Friday.

Advice: Webb’s peripherals aren’t up to par, but tonight will help. He struck out six while walking none, and all five hits he allowed should have been singles (Wyatt Langford turned one into a double with his speed). Webb is now 5-5 with a 2.92 ERA in advance of a date with the Astros. Rotoworld Friday, 9:38 pm
