    • Nabs 16th steal
Chisholm went 2-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base in Friday's 3-2 loss to the White Sox.

Advice: For the second straight game, Chisholm reached base three times while swiping a base. The 26-year-old has been doing his job of late at the top of the order, slashing .315/.378/.397 over his last 21 games, but he's scored only seven runs over that stretch due to the overall struggles of the Miami offense. On the season, Chisholm is batting what would be a career-high .262 with 10 homers, 16 steals, 37 runs and 40 RBI in 85 contests. Rotowire.com 38 minutes ago

    • Plates three runs Friday
Merrill went 1-for-4 with a triple and three RBI in a 10-8 win against Arizona on Friday.

Advice: Merrill knocked in San Diego's first run on a groundout in the second inning and added a two-run triple in the fourth. The outfielder also put an end to a streak of three games in which he had struck out multiple times. Despite that recent stretch, punchouts haven't been a problem for Merrill in the majors -- he has a very tolerable 17.0 percent strikeout rate through 323 plate appearances. The rookie has looked every bit a capable big-league hitter, slashing .289/.321/.456 with 12 home runs, 46 RBI, 40 runs and 10 stolen bases through 88 games. Rotowire.com 55 minutes ago

    • Swipes 43rd bag
De La Cruz went 1-for-2 with two walks, a run scored and a stolen base in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Tigers.

Advice: It was the first time since June 16 that the 22-year-old has drawn multiple free passes, while the stolen base was his league-leading 43rd of the year -- 15 ahead of second-place Brice Turang. De La Cruz can be streaky, but he's red hot right now, slashing .352/.417/.704 over his last 13 games with 10 extra-base hits (four doubles, three triples and three homers), six steals, eight RBI and 13 runs. • Suarez blows save in collapse vs. Diamondbacks
Robert Suarez got just one out and gave up three runs in a blown save against the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Advice: The good news is Suarez didn’t end up with a loss because Paul Sewald was just as bad, if not worse. The bad news is, see above. Suarez was handed a big 7-2 cushion when he came in, but he gave up a grand slam to Alek Thomas — with the three inherited runners not counting against his ERA, and a two-run blast to Randal Grichuk to give Arizona an 8-7 lead. Suarez was then pulled in favor of Stephen Kolek to prevent further damage. Suarez still has an excellent 1.77 ERA and will remain the San Diego closer, but Friday night was an ugly reminder that he — and most closers — are far from infallible. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:59 pm
    • Takes blown save
Suarez allowed three runs on four hits in one-third of an inning to take a blown save in Friday's 10-8 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Suarez has typically been dominant when called upon, but he served up a grand slam to Alek Thomas, allowing three inherited runners to score, and then a two-run home run to Randal Grichuk. While the Diamondbacks briefly took an 8-7 lead, Stephen Kolek was able to finish off the inning, and the Padres rallied to win in their half of the ninth. Both of Suarez's blown saves this year have come over his last eight appearances, a span in which he's given up six runs (five earned) across 6.1 innings. He's at a 1.77 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 33:7 K:BB through 35.2 innings overall while adding 22 saves and a hold. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:31 pm
    • Blows save, earns win
Helsley (3-3) earned the win and blew a save against the Nationals on Friday, allowing one unearned run on two hits and a walk with no strikeouts over two innings.

Advice: Helsley was summoned to protect a 6-5 lead in the 10th inning but allowed the automatic runner to score. He was brought back out with another one-run lead in the eleventh and was able to secure the win in his first multi-inning effort of the season. On the year, the closer leads the league with 31 saves and owns a 2.41 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 47:17 K:BB over 41 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:12 pm
    • Ryan Helsley blows save in 10th, grabs win in 11th
Ryan Helsey blew the save Friday against the Nationals despite not allowing an earned run. He also gave up two hits, an intentional walk, and didn’t strike a batter out across two innings.

Advice: A shortcoming of the Ghost Runner rule: Helsley entered a one-run game in the 10th inning, allowed the automatic runner to score from second base, and got tagged with a blown save. He did well to get out of a jam with runners on second and third with one out when Juan Yepez lined into an inning ending double play. He hung on for a 1-2-3 inning in the 11th inning and still managed to snag the win. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:26 pm
    • Set to return Tuesday
Schwarber (groin) is expected to be activated off the injured list ahead of Tuesday's series opener against the Dodgers, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Schwarber has been working through drills at 90 percent intensity, per Corey Seidman of NBC Sports Philadelphia, and the 31-year-old slugger will run the bases Saturday in the last step in his rehab program before he rejoins the team. Schwarber is slashing .250/.373/447 with 17 home runs, 49 RBI and a .820 OPS over 367 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:18 pm

    • Homers in win
Suzuki went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in a 5-1 win over the Angels on Friday.

Advice: Suzuki got the scoring started Friday with a two-run home run off Griffin Canning in the first inning. The 29-year-old has now homered four times over his past 10 games with eight RBI and eight runs scored. He has been a solid contributor across the board in 2024, hitting .262 with 12 home runs, 36 RBI, 36 runs scored and eight steals over 275 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:59 pm
