    • Luis Arraez not in Padres’ lineup on Wednesday
Luis Arraez is not in the Padres’ starting lineup for Wednesday’s tilt against the Rockies.

Advice: It looks to be nothing more than a routine day of rest for the two-time defending batting champion. Manny Machado will function as the team’s designated hitter on Wednesday while Donovan Solano will draw a start at third base and bat sixth against left-hander Austin Gomber and the Rockies. Jurickson Profar will slide up to the leadoff spot in the Padres’ lineup. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:00 pm
    • Taking seat Wednesday
Arraez is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies.

Advice: Arraez will get his second day off since he was acquired from the Marlins earlier this month. The Padres will have Manny Machado fill the designated-hitter spot while Donovan Solano covers third base. Jurickson Profar will bat leadoff in Arraez's stead. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:18 am
    • Luis Arraez hits walk-off single against Dodgers
Luis Arraez hit a walk-off RBI single to give the Padres a 2-1 win over the Dodgers on Friday.

Advice: With the score tied 1-1, Arraez picked up his first game-winning hit as a member of the Padres with a single to score Tyler Wade off Michael Grove. The 27-year-old has just seven RBI in his time with the Marlins and San Diego, but he should have more chances to drive in runs — even at the top of the lineup — now that he’s not playing for one of the worst teams in baseball. • Luis Arraez scores two runs in win over Cubs
Luis Arraez went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored on Wednesday, leading the Padres to a 3-0 victory over the Cubs.

Advice: Arraez wound up reaching base safely in two of his four plate appearances, crossing the plate in the first and fifth innings, respectively, on run-scoring hits from teammates Manny Machado and Jake Cronenworth. The 27-year-old batting title contender has a pair of multi-hit performances in five contests since arriving last week in San Diego. Rotoworld Wednesday, 2:17 pm
    • Luis Arraez not in lineup Tuesday vs. Cubs
Luis Arraez is not in the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Cubs.

Advice: Arraez takes a seat to open Tuesday’s contest at Wrigley Field with southpaw Shota Imanaga toeing the rubber after starting three consecutive games for San Diego since being acquired over the weekend from the Marlins. The 27-year-old second baseman has five hits and one RBI in 15 at-bats over three contests since being picked up by the Padres. Rotoworld Tuesday, 2:04 pm
    • Idle Tuesday
Arraez is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Chicago.

Advice: After starting and batting leadoff in each of his first three appearances with the Padres, Arraez will get the day off Tuesday. While it's possible Arraez will cede work against lefties -- the Padres are facing southpaw Shota Imanaga on Tuesday -- Arraez was part of the team's lineup Monday against Justin Steele, who's also left-handed. Manny Machado will DH on Tuesday while Donovan Solano starts at third base. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 1:53 pm
    • Absent from Tuesday's lineup
Bohm is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays.

Advice: It's Bohm's first day off since April 15. Kody Clemens will handle third base Tuesday while Bohm grabs a seat. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 12:04 pm

    • Report: Royals reached out to ask for Arraez
The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal reports that the Royals contacted the Marlins last week to discuss trading for Luis Arraez before the infielder was dealt to the Padres

Advice: Rosenthal was quick to note that those talks “never advanced beyond the preliminary stage"; however, it’s interesting that the Royals even made the phone call because it tells us that the team is looking to capitalize on their fast start to the season which sees them just 2.5 games behind the Guardians in the AL Central. However, another interesting aspect of this is where the Royals may be looking to upgrade. Michael Massey has been pretty good at second base since coming off the IL and Vinnie Pasquantino is locked in at first base, so the Royals must have felt that Arraez could fill the DH spot, which means either Nelson Velazquez or Hunter Renfroe could be on notice in the midst of a slow start to the season.
