      Seiya Suzuki went 2-for-5 with a home run, double, and two runs scored in a win over the Braves on Wednesday.

      Advice: The home run was Suzuki’s first since coming off the IL with an oblique strain. The injury came at an inopportune time with Suzuki slashing .305/.368/.525 with a 151 wRC+ before getting hurt.       Advice: Suzuki is batting just .217 in five games since returning from an oblique injury, though he has a strong .280 average and .825 OPS on the season. Those numbers are in line with the .285 average and .842 OPS the outfielder posted last year, when he also delivered a career-high 20 home runs. Both Harper and Schwarber are simultaneously in the lineup for the first time since last Friday, so Merrifield will retreat to the bench and will most likely be in store for a reduction in playing time moving forward. Running the bases is typically one of the last steps a player coming back from a knee injury takes before embarking on a rehab assignment, though it's not yet clear when Thomas might report to a minor-league affiliate for game action.       Advice: Merrill struck out in his first two at-bats before reaching on a fielder's choice in the seventh inning and coming around to score soon thereafter. He added a single and stolen base in the eighth but was left stranded. Merrill has notched three thefts over his past three games and ranks second on San Diego with seven steals on the season.
