• Earns eighth save
Hader picked up a save against the Twins on Saturday, striking out one batter over a scoreless inning.

Advice: It was a relatively easy save chance for Hader, as he entered with a three-run lead. The southpaw had worked in a non-save situation in each of his previous three appearances, though he's clearly still in control of Houston's closer role. Hader has had a few rough outings this season but is 8-for-9 in save chances and has allowed just three earned runs and struck out 33 batters over his past 19.1 innings. • Set for rehab assignment
Poche (back) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham on Sunday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Poche's last documented activity was May 22, when he threw a 15-pitch bullpen session. He'll likely only need a couple of appearances in Durham before being activated. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:47 pm

  • Handling low-leverage role well
Smith has allowed two runs over nine innings since the start of May.

Advice: Smith doesn't have the best control, having allowed six hits and three walks with just five strikeouts in that span. He's also picked up two of his four holds in that stretch, though manager Matt Quatraro has mostly kept Smith out of high-leverage situations since early April. The left-hander's season-long numbers remain poor (6.38 ERA, 1.58 WHIP, 12:8 K:BB), but he's been less volatile recently. With James McArthur, John Schreiber and Chris Stratton all pitching at a mediocre level in May, there could eventually be a path to high-leverage chances for Smith if he can keep performing well. • Strikes out 10 in loss
Manaea (3-2) took the loss to the Diamondbacks on Saturday, allowing six runs (five earned) on six hits and two walks with 10 strikeouts over 5.2 innings.

Advice: Manaea tossed two scoreless frames before Christian Walker hit a grand slam in the third inning and then surrendered two more runs and exited with two outs in the sixth . The 10 strikeouts were a season high for Manaea, and it was the first outing in which he has allowed more than three earned runs since April 13. Through 11 starts, Manaea has posted a 3.63 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 57:24 K:BB and tentatively lines up to face the Phillies next weekend in the London Series. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:31 pm

  • Solid in fourth straight win
Lively (5-2) earned the win against the Nationals on Saturday, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk with four strikeouts over 5.2 innings.

Advice: Lively fired three scoreless frames before allowing two runs in the fourth inning and left the game just shy of a quality start after allowing a two-out single to Lane Thomas in the sixth. This was Lively's fourth win in as many games, and he has not allowed more than three runs in any of his nine starts this season. Lively will take a 2.84 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 47:15 K:BB into a road matchup against the Marlins next weekend. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:31 pm

  • Throws 6.1 shutout innings in win
Lorenzen (3-3) earned the win against the Marlins on Saturday, allowing five hits and two walks with seven strikeouts over 6.1 shutout innings.

Advice: After allowing the first two hitters he faced to reach base, Lorenzen settled in and held the Marlins in check for his fourth straight quality start. Lorenzen has gone at least six innings in eight of his nine starts this season and now owns a 2.96 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 44:26 K:BB through 54.2 innings. Lorenzen offers eligibility at starting pitcher and relief pitcher and will look to stay hot in a home matchup against the Giants next weekend. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:48 pm
  • Grabs first save
Jimenez earned the save in Saturday's 11-9 win over Atlanta, allowing one hit while logging a strikeout in the ninth inning.

Advice: Atlanta made things interesting after Matt Olson led off the ninth with a double. However, Jimenez, making his first appearance in the majors following his demotion to Triple-A Las Vegas in early May, was able to set down the next three batters in order, earning his first save of the campaign. Mason Miller, the A's regular closer, was likely unavailable Saturday after pitching two innings Thursday. However, Jimenez could find himself slotted back into a high-leverage role due to Lucas Erceg (forearm) being placed on the IL. Overall, the 30-year-old Jimenez sports a 3.45 ERA with a 1.47 WHIP and 12:13 K:BB across 15.2 innings this year. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:41 pm
  • Michael Kopech allows unearned run in loss to MIL
Michael Kopech allowed an unearned run while striking out two and picking up a loss Saturday to the Brewers.

Advice: The run doesn’t get charged to Kopech because it was the “zombie runner” that was placed on second base to begin the bottom of the 10th. He still gets the loss with Willy Adames singling in William Contreras to give the Brewers a win and the White Sox their 10th straight loss. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:19 pm
  • Garrett Crochet strikes out eight in no-decision
Garrett Crochet held the Brewers to one run over six innings while striking out eight Saturday in a no-decision for the White Sox.

Advice: Crochet scattered five hits with one walk. The left-hander continues to impress even while playing for arguably the worst team in baseball, and he’s struck out 19 over his last two outings while allowing just three runs over 12 innings. Any question that Crochet has the stuff to succeed as a starter was pretty silly, but it should have been answered now. The questions of whether he can handle the modern rigors remain in doubt, but right now, Crochet is an excellent fantasy option even if the wins won’t come. A chance to impress is scheduled over the weekend against the Red Sox. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:18 pm
