      Clase (3-1) allowed an unearned run and struck out one batter in one inning of work Sunday against the Twins. He was charged with a blown save but earned the win.

      Advice: Clase gave up the game-tying run on an error in the ninth inning, but Cleveland walked it off in the bottom half of the frame. It was his first blown save since April 16, and he's now 13 for 16 in save chances this season.     • Tanner Bibee stellar across seven innings
      Tanner Bibee struck out eight over seven innings in the Guardians’ 5-2 win over the Twins on Sunday. He scattered four hits, walked one, and allowed one earned run in a no-decision.

      Advice: Bibee has struggled relative to expectations out of the gate this season but he was fantastic on Sunday. A José Miranda home run was the only blemish on his ledger as he kept the Twins off-balance all afternoon with a heavy diet of his signature slider.     • Shut down from throwing
      Bradford (ribs) said Sunday he's been shut down from throwing since he's not recovering as quickly as expected, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

      Advice: The left-hander apparently wasn't experiencing any pain since recently starting up a throwing program, but his recovery also wasn't moving forward.     • Makes history in no-decision
      Imanaga came away with a no-decision in Saturday's 1-0 win over the Pirates, scattering four hits and a walk over seven scoreless innings. He struck out seven.

      Advice: The 30-year-old lefty was locked in a pitchers' duel with Bailey Falter, which prevented either starter from getting a decision, but Imanaga still impressed. He generated 22 swinging strikes among his 88 pitches, and he now sports a 0.84 ERA -- the lowest mark in history through a pitcher's first nine career MLB starts.       Gil (5-1) picked up the win Saturday, allowing one run on five hits and a walk over six innings in a 6-1 victory over the White Sox. He struck out 14.

      Advice: The 25-year-old right-hander set a new career high in Ks -- in fact, Gil had never struck out more than nine batters in a big-league start before. He generated an incredible 22 swinging strikes among his 98 pitches, and 40 combined called/swinging strikes, as he produced his fourth straight quality start and won his fifth straight decision. Gil is having a breakout campaign, and he'll take a 2.39 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 62:27 K:BB through 49 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come at home next week against the Mariners.     • Shota Imanaga goes seven scoreless vs. Pirates
      Shota Imanaga tossed seven shutout innings with seven strikeouts in a no-decision against the Pirates on Saturday.

      Advice: Imanaga was outstanding once again, scattering four hits and one walk across seven scoreless innings. He did not allow a runner to reach scoring position until the seventh inning. The Pirates would put two runners on with a pair of base hits, but Imanaga would get out of trouble with a strikeout, one of seven on the day. He was saddled with a no-decision as the Cubs were also shut down by Bailey Falter. The 30-year-old left-hander has been perhaps the best starter in baseball so far, posting a 0.84 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, and a 58/9 K/BB ratio across 53 2/3 innings.       Luis Gil allowed one run with 14 strikeouts over six innings in a win over the White Sox on Saturday.

      Advice: Gil turned in a dominant performance after a shaky first inning. Two base hits, a double, and a walk brought a run in to score and loaded the bases before Gil struck out the final batter to end the opening frame. He allowed just two more hits across five more scoreless innings, striking out a career-high 14 batters on 22 whiffs. The 25-year-old right-hander ends the day with an impressive 2.39 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, and a 62/27 K/BB ratio across 49 innings. Gil is in line for a start against the Mariners in New York on Thursday.     • Deployed in eighth inning Friday
      Suarez earned a hold against Atlanta on Friday, allowing two hits and striking out two batters over one inning.

      Advice: Suarez has been one of the best closers in baseball this season with 12 saves (in 12 chances) and a 0.47 ERA, so his usage in the eighth inning against Atlanta was not a demotion. Rather, the right-hander was called upon to face the heart of Atlanta's formidable lineup, and though he gave up singles to Marcell Ozuna and Chadwick Tromp, Suarez managed to emerge from the outing with his 16-game scoreless streak intact. The 33-year-old should see most of his work in the ninth inning going forward, though Friday's usage is an indication that manager Mike Shildt won't hesitate to use Suarez in the highest-leverage situations prior to the ninth if the situation calls for it.       Robert Suarez worked the eighth against the Braves on Friday and picked up his first hold by pitching a scoreless inning.

      Advice: The Padres don’t usually play matchups with their closer, but they did tonight with No. 2 hitter Ozzie Albies due up to start the eighth. It all worked out perfectly; Suarez gave up a couple of hits, but he protected the two-run lead, and then Jeremiah Estrada locked things up against the bottom of the order in the ninth.
