      Ryan Helsley tossed a perfect ninth inning on Tuesday against the Tigers to collect his major league-leading 10th save of the season.

      Advice: Helsley got the call to protect a slim one-run margin in the final frame after St. Louis stormed ahead with a pair of runs in the top of the frame and needed just 10 pitches (10 strikes) to slam the door.       Clase (1-1) took the loss Sunday against Atlanta, allowing one unearned run on one hit in one-third of an inning.

      Advice: After striking out Ozzie Albies to open up the bottom half of the 10th frame, Clase surrendered a walk-off base hit to Austin Riley to bring home the designated runner. The outing snapped a streak of six consecutive scoreless appearances (covering six frames) and three straight perfect innings. Still, Clase is tied for the sixth-most saves in baseball with eight. Blanco came up an out short of extending his streak of quality starts to five, but it was yet another strong performance.       Ronel Blanco improved to 3-0 on the season on Saturday, limiting the Rockies to two runs on five hits over 5 2/3 innings in Mexico City.

      Advice: The right-hander piled up eight strikeouts on the evening while walking a pair of opposing hitters. He served up a one-out, two-run homer to Ryan McMahon in the opening inning, then went on cruise control from that point forward. Blanco generated a whopping 21 swings and misses on 102 pitches in the ballgame — nine on his cutter and eight on his changeup — while posting a strong CSW of 28 percent. He has been a tremendous addition to the Astros’ rotation this season, compiling a 1.65 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 30/14 K/BB ratio over 32 2/3 innings through his first five starts.
