    • Roughed up by Phillies
Webb (3-3) took the loss Sunday against the Phillies, allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out six over four innings.

Advice: The Phillies scratched out a run versus Webb in the second before plating four more in the third, which was highlighted by Bryce Harper's three-run blast. Webb faced some more traffic in the fourth but ultimately got out of it unscathed with his day ending there after throwing 98 pitches. Following a dominant stretch of four consecutive outings allowing two runs or fewer and pitching at least seven innings, Webb has now given up four runs in back-to-back starts while failing to get more than 12 outs. The one positive note was that his six strikeouts set a season high. The 27-year-old owns a 3.50 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 36:12 K:BB in 46.1 innings and will look to get back on track in a projected home matchup against the Reds. Rotowire.com 10 minutes ago
    • Leaves yard Sunday
Estrada went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Estrada gave the Giants some late life with a two-run blast in the seventh off Taijuan Walker, which ultimately knocked him from the game. The 28-year-old is riding a five-game hit streak and has six RBI over his last four games. In 12 games since April 21, Estrada is slashing .333/.364/.595 with two homers, nine RBI, six runs and a 1:5 BB:K. Rotowire.com 18 minutes ago
    • Homers as pinch hitter
Reetz went 1-for-1 with a solo home run in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Reetz roped a solo shot of Jose Alvarado in the ninth to bring the Giants within a run, but their comeback attempt would ultimately fall short. It was his first major league at-bat since 2021 and he should receive some additional looks while the team waits for Patrick Bailey (concussion) & Tom Murphy (knee) to return from their respective injuries. • MRI coming Monday
Ruiz, who was removed from Saturday's win over the Marlins with a wrist injury and was out of the lineup Sunday, is slated to undergo an MRI on Monday, per A's beat reporter Jessica Kleinschmidt.

Advice: Manager Mark Kotsay hadn't ruled out Ruiz making an in-game appearance Sunday, but that situation never arose in an ugly 12-3 loss for the Athletics. Ruiz is now headed for further evaluation Monday, after which the severity of injury he suffered making a diving catch in Saturday's game will become clearer. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:09 pm

    • Sustains back injury Sunday
Boyle, who was lifted after one inning in Sunday's loss to the Marlins, was suffering from lower-back pain that got worse the more he threw during the frame, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Boyle's performance clearly seemed to be affected by his physical limitations, as he allowed four earned runs on a hit and three walks over his sole inning on the mound. Manager Mark Kotsay confirmed Boyle would undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of the injury, at which point the right-hander's chances of making his next scheduled start Saturday against the Mariners will become clearer. Per Sonja Chen of MLB.com, right-handers Osvaldo Bido and Joey Estes, both of whom have big-league experience and are on the 40-man roster, are candidates to be called up from Triple-A Las Vegas should Boyle miss at least one turn through the rotation, although she adds Oakland has long relievers Mitch Spence and Kyle Muller as options on the big-league roster. • Non-throwing shoulder injury
Martin was not available Sunday and has not pitched since Wednesday due to soreness in his left, non-throwing shoulder, Peter Abraham of the Boston Globe reports.

Advice: Martin is a candidate to be placed on the injured list because the Red Sox are worried his injury could impact his mechanics and result in another injury. If he's not feeling better after an off day Monday, the Red Sox may call up another pitcher to take his place in the bullpen. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:49 pm

    • Dealing with shoulder issue
Soler was out of the lineup Sunday versus the Phillies due to a shoulder issue, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Soler is considered day-to-day, which suggests the injury isn't too severe. Wilmer Flores got the start at designated hitter Sunday and could continue to play there if Soler isn't available for Monday's series finale in Philadelphia. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:22 pm

    • Goes yard in win
McKenna went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and two total runs scored in Sunday's 11-1 win over the Reds.

Advice: McKenna has gotten into the lineup against the last three southpaws the Orioles have faced -- twice in center field and once in left. The outfielder has three hits this season, two of which have left the yard. He's still unlikely to see much more than a short-side platoon role, and McKenna's stay on the major-league roster is likely to end once Austin Hays (calf) is activated from the injured list. • Homers in blowout win
Westburg went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 11-1 win over the Reds.

Advice: Westburg did his damage early, lifting a two-run blast in the first inning. He had gone 0-for-7 over the first two games of the weekend series in Cincinnati. The homer was his first since April 21 and his sixth of the year. The infielder has added a strong .286/.336/.513 slash line with 23 RBI, 18 runs scored, four steals, five doubles and two triples through 32 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:05 pm
