    • Crushed by Rangers on Saturday
Wacha (1-4) took the loss against Texas on Saturday, allowing seven runs on nine hits and one walk while striking out three batters over 3.2 innings.

Advice: Wacha was pelted by seven singles among the nine hits he allowed, and he exited with two outs in the fourth frame after giving up a single to four of the final five batters he faced. The seven runs were a season-worst mark for the right-hander, while his three punchouts tied a season low. Wacha was doing fine with a 3.81 ERA through his first five starts this season, but that number has since ballooned to 5.50 as a result of the veteran hurler giving up 11 earned runs over 9.1 innings across his past two appearances. • Doesn't go deep enough to win
Dunning allowed two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out four batters over 4.2 innings in a no-decision against Kansas City on Saturday.

Advice: Texas jumped out a 7-0 lead through four innings, which appeared to set Dunning up for an easy win. Meanwhile, the right-hander cruised through those four frames, facing the minimum 12 batters. However, Dunning ran into trouble in the top of the fifth, allowing four Royals to reach base in a span of five hitters, resulting in two runs and a two-out hook. That prevented Dunning from qualifying for the victory, which would have given him his first winning streak of the campaign. He still managed to lower his season ERA slightly to 4.10, but it was a disappointing outing after Dunning punched out 10 batters in a dominant win his previous time on the mound. • Dane Dunning lasts just 4 2/3 frames vs. Royals
Dane Dunning surrendered two runs over 4 2/3 innings on Saturday in a no-decision against the Royals.

Advice: Dunning wasn’t able to stick around long enough to collect a win as Rangers manager Bruce Bochy went to his bullpen with two outs in the fifth inning after just 79 pitches (44 strikes). He finished with four strikeouts and only issued one walk. The 29-year-old righty hasn’t been asked to work deep into starts over the last few weeks, but he’s missing enough bats to be relevant for fantasy managers in deeper mixed leagues. He’ll bring a solid 4.10 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 43/17 K/BB ratio across 37 1/3 innings (seven starts) into a challenging road matchup on Friday against the Rockies at Coors Field. • Michael Wacha lit up for seven runs in loss
Michael Wacha was torched for a season-high seven runs over 3 2/3 innings on Saturday in a loss to the Rangers.

Advice: Wacha was lit up for nine hits in this one, which makes it even more remarkable that none of them wound up leaving the yard. The 32-year-old righty struck out three and only issued one walk. He’ll aim for better results his next time out on Thursday against the Angels in Los Angeles. Rotoworld Today, 8:48 pm
    • Tames Miami on Saturday
Blackburn (3-1) registered the win Saturday against the Marlins, yielding just one run on four hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out three.

Advice: Blackburn was perfect through the first three innings and then really got to put it on cruise control after the Athletics offense spotted him a 12-0 lead. A leadoff home run by Nick Fortes in the sixth inning represented the only scoring off Blackburn. It's a nice bounce-back performance from the veteran right-hander after he allowed 13 runs over his previous three outings. Blackburn is slated to take on the Mariners in Seattle next. • Paul Blackburn tosses seven strong frames in win
Paul Blackburn tossed seven innings of one-run ball with three strikeouts in a win over the Marlins on Saturday.

Advice: Blackburn was excellent against Miami on Saturday, holding them to one run over seven frames. The only run against him was a solo homer by Nick Fortes in the sixth inning. Blackburn scattered three more hits and one walk, striking out three on his way to his third win. The 30-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 3.05 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, and a 31/10 K/BB ratio across 41 1/3 innings. He lines up for a start against the Mariners in Seattle on Friday. • Max Scherzer (thumb) currently in holding pattern
Max Scherzer (back, thumb) is currently in a holding pattern when it comes to his rehab process.

Advice: The 39-year-old right-hander was scratched from a rehab outing earlier in the week due to inflammation in his thumb ligament. While that issue hasn’t gotten any worse, it also hasn’t improved over the last couple of days, causing the Rangers to kind of put everything on hold. They’ll continue to take things day-to-day until he feels improvement and is ready to resume playing catch again. Obviously that means there’s no clear timetable for when he may take the mound for the Rangers. Rotoworld Today, 4:38 pm

    • Bo Bichette ejected from Saturday’s ballgame
Bo Bichette was ejected from Saturday’s ballgame against the Nationals after spiking his helmet in frustration to a questionable called-third strike.

Advice: The slumping 26-year-old shortstop appeared to take exception to a pitch that grazed the outside corner against him, and he took out some frustration on his helmet. Home plate umpire Jonathan Parra didn’t take kindly to that though and gave him the heave-ho. He’ll catch the rest of Saturday’s game from the clubhouse. Rotoworld Today, 2:36 pm

    • Belts homer Friday
Machado went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run, an additional run and a walk Friday in a 7-1 victory versus Arizona.

Advice: Machado accounted for the Padres' final two runs in the victory with his fifth-inning blast. The homer extended his hitting streak to five games, though he's notched exactly one hit in each contest and is batting just .238 during that stretch. Machado does have six RBI during the hitting streak, though, which is more than he had accumulated in his previous 20 games combined. Rotowire.com Today, 11:29 am
