    • Tagged with loss Saturday
Mize (1-1) took the loss Saturday against the Yankees, coughing up five runs on nine hits and a walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out six.

Advice: A three-run shot by Anthony Rizzo in the third inning accounted for most of the damage off Mize, but the right-hander put plenty of traffic on the basepaths. It was the first time this season he'd allowed more than three runs in a start, and Mize will take a 3.98 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 24:7 K:BB through 31.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come at home next weekend against the Astros. • Wyatt Langford exits game with leg injury Saturday
Wyatt Langford was removed from Saturday night’s battle against the Royals after suffering a leg injury while running to first base.

Advice: The 22-year-old phenom hit a slow tapper out in front of home plate and was much slower than usual getting to first base. The exit could have been precautionary, with the Rangers holding a big early lead in the game, but we’ll know more when they provide an update on Langford’s status. Stay tuned. • Departs with hamstring tightness
Langford exited Saturday's game against the Royals in the fifth inning due to right hamstring tightness, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: Langford slowed up noticeably while trying to beat out a dribbler in front of the plate in the top of the fifth inning and was removed for defense prior to the bottom of the frame. The rookie figures to be sent for an MRI to determine the extent of the injury. Langford was hitless in three plate appearances Saturday before being lifted. Rotowire.com Today, 5:28 pm

    • CJ Abrams collects two hits, steals base vs. Blue Jays
CJ Abrams went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base against the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Advice: Abrams knocked a base hit in the third and stole second to get into scoring position, but was stranded on the bases. Down by four runs with the bases loaded, he sent a fly ball to deep center field that fell just short of a grand slam. He settled for a sacrifice fly to bring home a run. Abrams added a base hit in the ninth, ending his day slashing .281/.348/.570 with seven homers, 23 runs scored, 19 RBI, and eight steals across 136 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 4:09 pm

    • Cristian Javier (neck) throws 68 pitches in rehab start
Cristian Javier (neck) made his first minor league rehab start at Double-A Corpus Christi on Saturday, giving up three runs on three hits over 3 1/3 innings of work.

Advice: The 27-year-old right-hander walked a pair while striking out three batters in the contest. He threw 68 pitches in the game, 39 of those for strikes. There had been speculation that he would require just one rehab start before returning to the Astros’ rotation next week, we’ll see if that holds after how Saturday’s outing went. • Casey Mize surrenders five in loss to Yankees
Casey Mize gave up five runs over 5 1/3 innings with six strikeouts in a loss to the Yankees on Saturday.

Advice: Mize allowed nine hits while issuing a walk. He allowed a three-run homer to Anthony Rizzo, but he dealt with traffic throughout most of the start. The 2018 first-overall pick sees his ERA bump to 3.98, and he now possesses a 24/7 K/BB. He’ll be back on the mound when he faces the Astros on Friday. Rotoworld Today, 12:47 pm
    • Strikes out five in no-decision
Stone did not factor into the decision Friday against Atlanta, allowing one run on five hits and one walk over six innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Stone held up well against a tough Atlanta lineup, generating 14 whiffs and five punchouts. His only blemish on the evening was a 449-foot solo shot by Austin Riley in the first inning. Stone has made four straight starts in which he's allowed two or fewer runs, tossing a 2.35 ERA in 23 innings over that span. The Dodgers right-hander is slated to make his next start against the Marlins at home. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:37 pm
    • Gavin Stone limits Atlanta to one run over six
Gavin Stone didn’t factor into the decision against Atlanta on Friday despite allowing just one run over six innings.

Advice: Stone was excellent, but the Dodgers blew a late lead to prevent him from picking up the win. The 25-year-old threw 58-of-86 pitches for strikes while fanning five and issuing just one walk. Stone isn’t missing bats at an elite level, but it’s tough to argue with the results thus far. He gets a tasty matchup against the Marlins next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:15 pm
    • Royce Lewis (quad) increases baseball activities
Twins’ manager Rocco Baldelli told reporters on Friday that Royce Lewis (quad) has been progressing nicely in his recovery and has increased baseball activities in recent days.

Advice: He’s now entering the fifth week of his recovery from a severe right quad strain and is tracking towards meeting that initial eight-week estimate that he was given when he sustained the injury. The dynamic 24-year-old infielder could rejoin the Twins’ lineup before the month of May concludes if he continues to avoid any setbacks. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:49 pm
