      Pfaadt (1-2) took the loss against the Padres on Saturday, allowing five runs (three earned) on 10 hits over six innings. He struck out four.

      Advice: Pfaadt struggled with San Diego's lineup throughout the contest, allowing hits to three of the first four batters he faced and surrendering three runs over the first four innings - though one of those wouldn't be charged to him on account of a fielding error by Blaze Alexander. The right-hander was later relieved by Brandon Hughes in the seventh after surrendering back-to-back singles to open the frame, which led to an eight-run inning for the Padres. Despite his struggles on the night, Pfaadt still managed to log his second-consecutive quality start and has now posted a 15:0 K:BB over his last two outings.       Javier (neck) allowed three runs on three hits and two walks while striking out three across 3.1 innings in a rehab outing with Double-A Corpus Christi on Saturday, MLB.com reports.

      Advice: The results weren't overly impressive, but it was otherwise a successful outing for Javier, as he was slated to throw roughly 65 pitches in the outing.       Advice: Raleigh sent Houston starter Framber Valdez to the showers with a two-run blast in the sixth inning. The homer was a much-needed positive outcome for the backstop, as he entered the contest having gone 1-for-26 with 13 strikeouts over his previous eight games.       Advice: Raleigh’s sixth-inning shot off Astros starter Framber Valdez provided more than enough run support for Mariners ace Logan Gilbert, who reeled off eight scoreless frames to open the contest.       Brandon Pfaadt struggled in a losing effort against the Padres on Saturday night, giving up five runs (three earned) on 10 hits over his six-plus innings of work.

      Advice: Pfaadt struck out four batters on the evening and didn’t issue a base on balls. The Padres scratched out a run against him in the opening inning on an RBI single by Manny Machado, then tacked on two more runs in the fourth. Pfaadt returned for the seventh inning where he allowed singles to Luis Arraez and Fernando Tatis Jr. before exiting — and both of them ultimately came around to score. The 25-year-old right-hander got 11 whiffs on 89 pitches on the night, registering a CSW of 25 percent. It was the first time this season he'd allowed more than three runs in a start, and Mize will take a 3.98 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 24:7 K:BB through 31.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come at home next weekend against the Astros.       Wyatt Langford was removed from Saturday night’s battle against the Royals after suffering a leg injury while running to first base.

      Advice: The 22-year-old phenom hit a slow tapper out in front of home plate and was much slower than usual getting to first base.       CJ Abrams went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base against the Blue Jays on Saturday.



      Advice: Abrams knocked a base hit in the third and stole second to get into scoring position, but was stranded on the bases. Down by four runs with the bases loaded, he sent a fly ball to deep center field that fell just short of a grand slam. He settled for a sacrifice fly to bring home a run.
