    • Tommy Edman (wrist) takes BP left-handed Friday
Tommy Edman (wrist) was able to take batting practice from the left side of the plate for the first time on Friday.

Advice: Edman is already eligible to be activated from the 60-day injured list, but he’s still not close to being ready. The fact that he’s now able to face live pitching from both sides of the plate though is an encouraging sign and perhaps a minor league rehab assignment could be in the cards soon. He’s going to need plenty of at-bats there before he’s ready to join the Cardinals though and there’s no guarantee that he’ll even be ready before the end of June. Rotoworld Friday, 1:44 pm

    • Taking BP from left side
Edman (wrist) has been cleared to take batting practice from the left side of the plate, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Advice: It's the first time the switch hitter has taken BP from the left side since he experienced complications in his recovery from right wrist surgery. While the step is an important one, Edman does not appear close to beginning a rehab assignment just yet. Rotowire.com Friday, 1:34 pm

    • Justin Turner on the bench again
Justin Turner is on the bench for Monday’s game against the White Sox.

Advice: Turner got a day off on Sunday, but he remains out of the lineup on Monday with Daniel Vogelbach starting at designated hitter again. The 39-year-old is slashing just .222/.301/.359 in 173 plate appearances in 2024 with four home runs and 18 RBI. It’s possible that the Blue Jays will look to get at-bats for other players in his place, and fantasy managers can certainly look to do the same with a hot bat on the waiver wire. • Out of lineup again Monday
Turner is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the White Sox.

Advice: Turner has now been absent from the lineup for two straight games and three times over his club's last five contests. He did enter the game twice over that stretch as a pinch hitter and will be an option to do so again Monday when/if the White Sox put a left-handed reliever in. Daniel Vogelbach will start at designated hitter Monday. Rotowire.com May 27, 7:52 am

    • Justin Turner out Sunday against Tigers
Justin Turner is not in the starting lineup for Sunday’s game against the Tigers.

Advice: Turner will get the day off with Ernie Clement starting at third base and Daniel Vogelbach the designated hitter. Turner has been awful thus far in May with a .105 average over 57 at-bats and a .287 OPS. Rotoworld May 26, 6:54 am

    • Out of Sunday's lineup
Turner is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers.

Advice: Turner's offensive production has fallen sharply in May with a .105/.164/.123 slash line through 16 games, and he'll sit Sunday for the second time in Toronto's past four contests. Daniel Vogelbach will bat fifth as the designated hitter in the series finale at Detroit. Rotowire.com May 26, 6:49 am

    • Resting Saturday
Grissom isn't in the Red Sox's lineup for Saturday's game against the Brewers, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

Advice: Grissom has gone just 1-for-18 across his last five contests, so he'll sit out Saturday in order to regroup. David Hamilton and Ceddanne Rafaela will make up Boston's middle infield while Grissom is on the bench. Rotowire.com May 25, 12:44 pm
